Moyvane GAA:
AGM:
The AGM of Moyvane GAA club will be held in the Marian Hall, Moyvane on Friday, January 7th 2011 at 8pm. The deadline for Executive Committee nominations is Friday, January 1st, 2011. All nominations must be with the Secretary at 087 9817883 on or before this date.
Coiste na nOg Calendar: Moyvane Coiste na nÓg launched a 2011 calendar to clebrate a very successful year in both youth football and Scór. All of the competing age groups won out their divisions, which is an excellent achievement. The calendar is a collection of team photos from U8’s to U16’s and also contains some memorabilia pictures of past footballers and events of Moyvane G.A.A. All proceeds of this will go the running costs that were accrued during this fantastic year and will help to lay the foundation for another good year ahead for underage football. A special thanks to all of our sponsors for their generosity and support in the current economic climate, it is much appreciated. Míle buíochas also to the many people that helped in the compilation of the calendar. The calendar is on sale in a selection of local shops and businesses in Moyvane and Knockanure at a cost of €10. It is an ideal Christmas stocking filler for loved ones both home and away.
Youth Awards Night: Moyvane Coiste na nÓg are hosting an Awards Night to celebrate the achievements of all our underage players during the past year.  The celebration will take place on Saturday, January 8th, 2011. Further details will follow.
Club Lotto: Congratulations to Maureen and James Connolly, Trien Kilmorna who were the lucky winners of the Moyvane GAA Club Lotto Jackpot of €6,800. Lucky Dips: €40 each: Tom Walsh, Moher, Fintan McEnery, Moyvane, Jim Nolan, Moyvane, Mike Hussey, Ballyduff and Matty Dillon c/o Agri Auto Parts. Next week’s Jackpot will begin at €2,000 and the draw will take place in Mairead’s Bar on Sunday, December 19th.

Kerry County Council:
Kerry County Council comes to Moyvane with its Annual Christmas Meeting in the Marian Hall on Monday, December 20th. Pat Leahy, Mayor of Kerry was instrumental in arranging this and the committee of the Marian Hall would like to welcome all members of the council, as a group, to Moyvane for the first time.

Moyvane Badminton Club:

Moyvane Badminton Club hosted its 25th Invitation Tournament Sponsored by Newtownsandes Co-Op on Sunday last. Players from most clubs in the county competed. Results as follows: Division 5 winners: Olive Keane, Moyvane and Michael Riordan, Iveragh, runners up Eimear Hannon, Listowel and Oliver Carmody 21/13 21/14. Division 4 winners: Margaret Healy, Listowel and Con Mulvihill, Moyvane, runners up Francine Collins, Moyvane and Maurice O’Shea County (Tralee) 21/14 23/21. Division 3 winners: Carolanne Warrilow, Moyvane and John O’Brien, Killarney, runners up Mairead Regan, Listowel and Mark Clear, County (Tralee) 21/10 21/18. Division 2 winners: Catherine Murphy, Kingdom (Castleisland) and Michael J. O’Connor, Moyvane, runners up Brid Murphy Kingdom and Tom McElligott Listowel 21/7 20/22 21/14. Moyvane ICA:

Moyvane ICA is organising a trip to Daniel O’Donnell in INEC on Friday 17th December. Bus leaves village at 6pm. Line Dancing postponed until the New Year.

Moyvane Senior Citizens:
The Moyvane Senior Citizens committee members were very happy with their Christmas Party and would like to thank you for coming along and hope that you enjoyed your day. Thanks to all the local business people who gave spot prizes and Newtownsandes Co-op for sponsoring the music for the day. Wishing you all a happy and peaceful Christmas.

Fundraiser:

A fundraiser will be held in Mairead’s Bar on this Friday night to help fund a School Tour for the Nano Nagle School in Listowel. Music and Craic by Gabriel Fitzmaurice & The Bog Hole Boys. Spot Prizes Galore.

The Shane Healy Fund:
The Shane Healy Fund would like to thank the teachers, pupils, parents and board of management of Knockanure National School who held a no uniform day in the school recently. €265 was collected for the fund. A thousand thanks to all.

Concern:
The staff and students of Tarbert Comprehensive School would like to thank those who helped with the collections and also all who contributed so generously to the Concern Church Gate Collections. The amount raised in Moyvane/Knockanure was €807.

Divine Mercy Conference:
A weekend trip to the conference in the RDS Arena, Dublin is being organised for the North Kerry/West Limerick area, Friday, February 18th – Sunday February 20th. For information contact Sean at 087 4147001.
