Visitors:
It’s that time of the year again when visitors come visiting their relatives. Maureen Nolan played host to her cousin, Mary Brown, formerly O’Sullivan from Charlotte, North Carolina over the last two weeks. Mary’s father, William O’Sullivan, from Coilbee was a brother of Donal Bill and, like many others of that era, he emigrated to New York in 1928 with his sister, Molly who later married Tim Hanrahan of Shrone. Mary, who is a retired school psychologist, visited her Irish family accompanied by her late parents twenty two years ago. She was amazed at the progress that has been made over the years, she found a new more prosperous Ireland but was pleased to find that some things never change, the welcome, friendliness and the greenness of the countryside. Maureen laid on a big bash where Mary and her friend who travelled with her got to meet all the O’Sullivan clan. It’s good to see positive vibes, hopefully we are still Ireland of the Welcomes.
