Limerick West GIY:
With the aim of inspiring people to grow their own food Limerick West GIY will hold its March meeting on Thursday, March 21st at 7pm sharp in D&M Garden Centre, Croagh with new growers and old hands all welcome. This month’s talk will be given by Chris who will speak about cabbage and their versatility in that they can be harvested all year round by planting different varieties. If you love your greens this talk will be excellent for both the new grower and the experienced old hands. There will also be our first seed or plant swap of the season so please bring any unwanted seeds or excess plants and who knows you might just pick up that seed or plant you have been looking for. There is no need to bring anything if you don’t have spares and you can still take what you see during the swap. GIY’s vision is for a healthier, more connected and more sustainable world where people grow their own food. The organisation brings people together in community groups and online to inspire and empower them to grow vegetables. More information from www.giyireland.com.
