Moyvane Development Association:
Plans for the Village Festival on the October Bank Holiday weekend are almost complete with an exciting, action-packed programme. Saturday night sees the eighth Boro Buffet. It’s amazing how popular this event still is, but then why not, when the food is gourmet standard. It just proves if you get it right you will get the customers. Sunday night is going to be a blast from the past with a reborn Macra na Feirme drama group bringing you a play they staged in 1985. Full details will be available next week.
Sunday last was National Trails Day. Thank you to all, young and old, who took part in the Village Nature Trail from the church car park to the Lime Kiln taking in the flora & fauna on the way. The Lime Kiln was the one area that drew most praise from the judges in the Tidy Towns Adjudication Report and I quote "Pride of place is reserved for the superb river walk. The gurgling river alongside leading to the well developed former Lime Kiln with it’s picnic table is a real joy". Unfortunately, it seems not everyone appreciates the effort that has been put in to these local amenities because recently the area was vandalised. The picnic table, a massive stone slab, was split and the area surrounding it was badly disturbed. It was from here the then Mayor of Kerry, Pat Leahy, launched Kerry’s National Spring Clean last March. We have been fortunate locally not to suffer from vandalism so hopefully this is a one off.

Newtownsandes Co-Op:
Dinner Dance in the Listowel Arms Hotel on Friday, November 25th. Always a night to remember. Full details later.

There are loads of things to play with. Starts at 10am and it’s over at midday.
