Moyvane

Moyvane Notes – 14th September, 2009

Moyvane Development Association:
The National Tidy Towns results were announced last week and our local committee were thrilled with a mark of 253, up 7 from last year. They have increased their marks every year since their first entry in 2001 and they would like to take this opportunity to say congratulations to all involved. "To our dedicated committee, assisted by members of the Rural Social Scheme and FAS, and to all our village residents and members of the business community we say a big thank you, as this year’s "summer" weather made progress very slow. It was obvious just by looking at the hanging baskets, shrubs, newly painted buildings and litter control that you had dedicated a lot of time and attention to improving the place we live in. Work is near completion on our main ’09 project, the new footpath to the Lime Kiln. We would like to thank all involved, especially Kerry County Council and Pat & Bridie Hayes for once again being so generous". On behalf of all residents of the parish I take this opportunity to thank those involved, you are a credit to the community. Watch out Sneem, here comes Moyvane. Committee meeting next Tuesday night at 9pm in the Marian Hall.
