Moyvane GAA:
Juniors: Congratulations to Moyvane Juniors who won the Intermediate North Kerry Championship for the second year in a row. Race Night: Moyvane GAA Club are holding their annual video race night in Brosnan’s Bar on Thursday, September 16th at 9:30pm. This is a very important event, as it is their main fund raiser for the year. Please come and support your local club.

GAA Lotto: There was no winner of last Sunday night’s Jackpot of €4,200. Numbers drawn were 4   6   25   26.  Lucky Dips of €40 each: Marie Lynch, Lisselton, Paschal Sweeney, Moyvane, Margaret and Michael Lynch, Moyvane, B. Dancing:

Jimmy Smith is taking over from Johnny Cronin and dancing will now be on a Friday beginning on Friday, September 24th at 4pm.

Set Dancing:

Adult set dancing with Timmy Woulfe begins on Monday September 20th in the Marian Hall. Beginners at 8pm. All dancers at 8.30pm.

Knockanure Community Centre:

Death:
The death has taken place of Fr. Joe Walsh of Leitrim East. He was one of a family of ten born to Mary Hanrahan & Maurice Walsh on April 17, 1924. He was a member of the Mill Hill Fathers and was ordained in London in 1949. After his ordaination he taught in St. Joseph’s College, Freshford, Co. Kilkenny. In 1953 he was appointed to Kuching, Borneo where he spent ten years before returning to Europe where he spent time in Freshford, Glasgow, Dublin, Belfast & Edinburgh. He retired in 1999 and celebrated his Diamond Jubilee last year. His health had been failing for some time and he died on Saturday, September 11 in St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, Rathgar. His burial took place in Bohernabreena cemetery, Dublin on Monday. He is survived by his sister, Peg and many nieces and nephews. May he rest in peace.
