Sc-r: Tara Mulvihill came first in the Solo Singing section and the Moyvane Ballad Group – Margaret Foley, Tara Mulvihill, Celine Mulvihill and Deirdre Moloney did well, at the Glen Eagle Hotel on Sunday last. They now go forward to the Munster semi-finals, in Ovens, Co. Cork on January 12.
The Irish Heart Foundations has thanked all who supported the church gate collection, also those who helped with the collections. The amount £265 – collected will go towards research in the hope of reducing the number of deaths from heart disease in Ireland.
Moyvane Senior Badminton – the competition scene has been hectic over the pat few weeks and because of players commitments and injuries arranging matches has been difficult to organise, one team having to be withdrawn as players weren’t available.
The division three mens league team of Michael O’Connor, Liam Kenneally, Ollie Conyard and Tony Barry defeated Killarney 4-2 at home.
The division three ladies league team were runners-up in that competition. Players involved were Olive Keane, Marguerite Lynch, Siovan Hogan, Jeanelle Griffin and Nora Conyard.
The division four mixed league team lost 5-2 to Killarney and defeated Ballyheigue 6-1. Team was Jacqueline Normile, Siobhan Flynn, Michelle Lynch, Andrea Walsh, Donnacha Enright, Sean Sheehy, Gerard Fitzmaurice and Pat Walsh.
The division three mixed league team has defeated both Ballyheigue and Listowel. This team is Nora Conyard, Jeanelle Griffin, Siovan Hogan, Ml. O’Connor, Ollie Conyard, Ml. Corridan and Pat Higgins.
Pat Walsh was finalist at the Handicapped Tour in Tralee and the Invitation Tournament in Kingdom Club fun tournament will be on December 17 at 9pm.
