Moyvane Notes – 15th May, 2006


As we celebrate the 1916 rising we look back in those locally  who lost there lives and there fight for freedom on thr 7 april 1921 Micheal Galvin was kill in action at kilmerna kilmorna on 12 may at Gortaglana bridge Jermah lyons Patrick Dalton Patrick Welsh Con Dee were captured Gortaglana Bridge there were taking a  quarter mile down road where four them faced the firing squad Con Dee Ballylongford escape from the scene with leg injuries on 26 may at coilbee Jack Sheehan was shot near his home as he tried to escape memorial stands where all five men lost there lives.


The marriage took place of Willian Fitzgerald lower main street moyvane to Valeree Curran Mallow St CALMAN CHURCH BALLINTATIS  the reception in GARRYVOE


THE DEATH TOOK PLACE OF John Flaherty Woodgrove Moyvane and late of  Balee bridge Athea he was buried in Ahavoher graveyard. On Monday last.
