Junior North Kerry League Division 3 Final: Congratulations to the Moyvane Junior team who overcame Listowel Emmets in Tarbert on Tuesday, May 8th to be named North Kerry Division 3 Champions for the second year running. Leading 0-7 to 0-4 at half time Moyvane came through a strong Emmets comeback in the second half to win the game on a final score of 0-13 to 0-10. Senior County League, Division 4, Round 3: Moyvane got a share of the spoils in their County League game away to Tuosist on Sunday, May 13th on a final score of Moyvane 2-9, Tuosist 2-9. Moyvane Scorers: Kevin Kennelly 1-3, Timmy Noonan 0-4, Cathal O’ Connor 1-0, William Madden 0-1 and John Jack Mulvihill 0-1.

U8s/U10s Blitz: Over the last two weekends Moyvane hosted the first rounds of the U8 & U10 blitz go games, with teams from Finuge, Brosna, Listowel and Moyvane participating. Both days were very enjoyable with Moyvane competing well in all games. Thanks to all coaches who prepared teams and organised games, also a special thanks to all parents who contributed generously with food and refreshments.
U12s: Moyvane played Beale at home last weekend and came back from 9 points down at half time to draw the game, Moyvane 2:13 Beale 2:13. In the last weekend of phase 1 county league, Moyvane finished with a win away to Duagh, (Moyvane 2:10 Duagh 1:05) this will be followed by a regrading and phase 2 of the County League.
U14s: County district championship starts with Feale Rangers against Eoghan Ruadh 7pm in Mountcoal on May 16th.
Fundraiser: Girls Under 12 football would appreciate your help by contributing all unwanted clothes, shoes, textiles, curtains (no duvets /pillows), anything else welcome. Old mobile phones also accepted. Collection day is Thursday, May 17th at the Community Centre, Moyvane anytime until 4pm, bags may also be dropped on Wednesday, May 16th between 6pm and 8 pm. Senior Badminton:
The Division 3 Badminton League team travelled to Baldoyle on Sunday to take part in the All Ireland Finals.They were honoured to achieve another first for a Moyvane team. They first played Johnswell (representing Leinster), Saorcha won the Ladies singles and paired with Donnacha won the first mixed. A few other games went to three sets but the result was 2-5. They then met Galway here and again Saorcha and Donnacha won the first Mixed, Donnacha and James won the Men’s Doubles and Jeanelle and Dermot won third Mixed, the result was a very creditable 3-4 with again some of the other games being close. It was third place for Moyvane. The team was Saorcha Fitzgerald, Carmel Hudson, Jeanelle Griffin, Francine Collins, Dermot Keane, James Sheehan, Captain, Donnacha Moloney, Mike Corridan and Kevin Stack. Managers, Donie Enright and Mike Corridan did themselves the club and County proud. Thirty members and friends attended the Kerry Prizegiving Social last week and a hugh array of Silverware trophies and medals were collected to finish off a fantastic year. Moyvane/Knockanure community games will hold their Athletics evening on Thursday May 17th at 5.30pm in the Con Brosnan Park, Moyvane. Community Games caters for boy and girls under 8 to under 16 confined to the parish of Moyvane and Knockanure in sprints, long distance, hurdles and field events. The first four in each event will qualify for the county finals, which will be held in an Riocht Track, Castleisland on Saturday and Sunday, June 25th & 26th.
