Moyvane Notes – 15th November, 2003

SANTA will visit The Marian Hall, Moyvane on Sunday, November 30 at 3pm. All children are invited to meet him. There will also be a jumble sale, cake sale etc on the day.

The annual shopping trip to Cork will be on December 3. Bus will leave the village at 8am. Contact Eileen Roche, Noreen Roche or Jill McCarthy.

Masses for the dead. This Saturday 7.30pm: Johnny Meade, Aughrim; Sunday: Paddy Carmody, Gortdromasillihy.

Fr. John will visit Woodgrove this week.

Moyvane seniors play Renard in the county league relegation playoff this weekend at a venue to be decided. Players are asked to check local posters for definite fixture. A loss would mean division five football next year.

Moyvane minors are due to play Knocknagoshel/Brosna in the semi-final of the North Kerry championship. Fixture will be clarified early in the week.

Senior citizens: An afternoon of entertainment on Sunday, November 16 in the Marian Hall 2.30pm – 5.30pm. Local musicians will provide music. Refreshment will be served.

Listowel Laundry Service – available to senior citizens. Collected and delivered Wednesdays at a cost of €4 per bag.

The shooting season seemed to get off at a good start with pheasants in fairly good supply. The fine summer and the restocking by the local Gun Club was a help.

The death has take place of Tim O’Connor, Sligo, and late of Inchamore, Listowel. His remains were removed to Moyvane Church and buried in the Ahavoher Cemetery.
