Next monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 6th at 9pm in the Marian Hall. You are all welcome to attend. April is national spring clean month and the first village clean up was held last Tuesday night. Everyone is invited to come along to the next one and help get the village looking good as Tidy Towns time is just around the corner. Without your help it would be impossible to make any impression on the annual tidy towns competion. In 2013 166 groups took part in the spring clean campaign throughout Kerry and a total of 44.70 tonnes of hand picked litter was collected.
The 2014 Kerry and Munster Championshis have come to an end, On Friday last the Division 2 and 4 Mixed Championships were played in Killarney. In Division 2 Elaine Hudson and partner defeated Donie Enright and his partner. In an all Moyvane Division 4 final Krystle Crowley and Timmy Noonan defeated Eleanor Sheehan and Timmy Hanrahan. The winners qualified for the Munster Finals which was held in UL last Sunday and it was Munster glory and Gold medals for Krystle Crowley and Timmy Noonan. It was gold also for James Flaherty and his partner. James won Silver in the Division 3 Mens Doubles as did Dermot Keane in the Division 2 Mens Doubles. Fantastic weekend for all. In the Leagues The Division 3 team travelled to Valentia on Monday night where they defeated Sneem/Iveragh 4-3. This guaranteed them a place in the final. The team was Francine Collins, Jeanelle Griffin, Carmel Hudson, Kevin Kennelly, James Flaherty and James Sheehan. The Division 2 team defeated County 4-3 to win the Kerry title. Moyvane players on the team were Elaine Hudson, Pat Kearney, Donie Enright and Dermot Keane. This Wednesday night the Division 3,4 and 5 Knockout Finals will be played in The Presentation Gym, Tralee and Moyvane will contest all three finals. Best of Luck.

Spike ball for u14 boys and girls is on Sunday, May 25th. Futsal for boys u13 is on Sunday, June 01. Futsal for girls u13 will be held on Saturday, June 7th. Gaelic football for u10 (over7), mixed is on Monday, June 2nd with Gymnastics is on Sunday, May 11th. Swimming is on Sunday, May 4th. Closing date for swimming is Thursday, April 24th. The members of Moyvane ICA recently sold daffodils and served homemade treats at the Bingo at the Hall. The money raised was €1,534 in total. A big thank you to all who contributed. All money raised will be used locally. The Cancer Society greatly appreciates the continued support.

DEATH:
The death has taken place of Josie Stack of Dooncaha, Tarbert. Formerly Josie Walsh of Barragougeen, Moyvane she died unexpectedly at Kerry General Hospital last Saturday, April 12th. She is survived by her husband Michael, sons Thomas and Pat, daughters Helen, Joanne, Annetta, Marie and Marguerite, sisters Margaret and May, sons-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, sisters-in-law and cousins. Requiem Mass for Josie took place at St. Mary’s Church, Tarbert with burial in the adjoining cemetery. May she rest in peace.
