SENIORS Moyvane had a hard earned win over Duagh in the County league on Sat. night last. A stiff breeze made scoring difficult but in fairness both sides tried very hard. Moyvane had first use of the wind and when Eddie Bowler punched a goal midway through it looked good for the Moyvane lads but Duagh responded and scored a goal and a point just before the break to lead by 1 – 4 to 1 – 3 at the interval. Moyvane got stuck in after the break and gave very little away and held Duagh to just one point while they added three themselves to win on a score of 1 – 6 to 1 – 5. Next Sat. Moyvane play Tousist in Tousist again in the County league at 7pm. They will have to keep up the commitment if they are to maintain the momentum in our effort to stay in the promotion race. The very best of luck to the lads and lets hope they can get the right result.
MINORS Moyvane defeated Keel in the County league last week and so improved their chances of reaching the semi-finals. In what was a great and exciting game of football our lads finished very strongly to take full advantage. This was a tremendous team effort with every player giving a hundred per cent and it was a tribute to them when they were down late in the game they never gave up and came with a strong finish to win on a score if 2 – 9 to 2 – 8. Next Fri. night they play Fossa in Fossa at 7pm.
JUNIORS Moyvane lost to St. Senans in the North Kerry league on Tues. night last. They play Desmonds in Castleisland on Tues. night at 7pm.
UNDER 12 Moyvane are playing Scartaglin in Scartaglin in the County league on Sun. evening at 7pm. Bus leaving Moyvane at 6pm so all players are asked to be in good time.
Concert : At St John’s Heritage Centre, The Square, Listowel on Friday 28th of April at 8pm in aid of Concern.
Plebiscite : The Moyvane Plebiscite will be held after the Dingle Plebiscite. The Dingle Plebiscite is held up with legal problems so the Moyvane Plebiscite will now more than likely be held towards the end of the year or some time next year.
