Bingo, as it is Valentine’s Day this Thursday night, the raffle prizes will be special to celebrate the day that’s in it, so if you would like to win chocolates, wine, flowers and all kinds of nice prizes, bingo is your place to be this Thursday night. Golden Line this week is €725.

Catherine Mulvihill (nee Hogan) has died. Her remains were removed to the Church of the Assumption, Moyvane and buried in Murhur Cemetery. She is survived by her sons, daughter, brother and relatives.

The death has also occurred of William (Billy) Murphy. His remains were removed to Knockanure Church on Monday. He was buried in the local cemetery following requiem Mass on Tuesday. He is survived by his brothers, nephews, nieces and relatives.

Tara Mulvihill will be in the All-Ireland final of Juvenile Scor in Athlone on Saturday next.

The GAA club draw is going very well. They are again asking for support. They have some great prizes on offer so book your tickets early. Cost of tickets €127 (£100) and can be had from any of the committee, or contact Teddy Keane at 49964 or 49101 for any information. Sellers will be calling in the next few weeks. They are meeting on Monday night, February 18, to update their position so they are asking all ticket sellers to please attend. Meeting will start at 8.00 sharp.

Senior Scor took place in Asdee on Saturday night last and while we competed in a few events we did not come through into the next round in any of them. However, they all competed very well and represented our club proudly.

The Division four team of John M. Mulvihill, Ian Sheehy, Pat Walsh, Donnacha Moloney, Siobhan Flynn, Michelle Lynch, Jackie Normile and Andrea Walsh defeated Listowel 6 – 1 in Listowel last week. On Monday they defeated Killarney 4 – 3. The Division three men’s league team Mike Corridan, Pat Higgins, Tony Barry and Ollie Conyard defeated Ballyheigue 6 – 0. A week later they also defeated Kingdom 4 – 2.

Tony Barry won the Division three singles championship in Tralee on Sunday last.

Juvenile Badminton, Marguerite Lynch has won the U-17 singles championships in Tralee on Saturday last. Congrats also to Myles Kearney runner-up U-15. Timmy Duggan runner-up U-17.

At the juvenile Badminton Leagues played in Tralee on Saturday, the Movane team were runners-up in both U-13 and U-15. The U-13 ‘A’ team was Mgt. Ann O’Flaherty, Lynda O’Sullivan, Katie Galvin, Breda Lane, Eoin Stack, Brian Walsh, Kevin Kennelly and Aidan O’Connor.

The U-15 team was Siobhan Hanrahan, Aisling Fitzmaurice, Louise Behan, Dermot Keane, Kieran Fitzmaurice, Diarmuid Fitzmaurice and Ivan O’Brien.

The U-13 ‘B’ which also competed was Una Fitzgerald, Aishling O’Flaherty, Erin Stack, Michelle Kennelly, Kieran Kiely, Padraig O’Connor, Kieran Lane and Kevin Fitzmaurice.

A tidy-towns meeting will be held on Monday, February 18, at 8.30 in the Marian Hall. All committee members are asked to attend. Anyone who is interested in helping out for this years competition is welcome to attend.
