Moyvane GAA – Seniors:
Moyvane defeated Ballydonoghue in the County Novice Championship on Saturday night last. On a perfect afternoon for football, we were treated to very fast and enjoyable game. Moyvane looked the sharper in the first half and took their points very well. At the break they led 0–7 to 0–3. Ballydonoghue got through for a goal early in the second period to get themselves back in the game. The exchanges were good and tight but Moyvane lifted themselves again and entering the final minutes were five points clear. Just on full time Ballydonoghue converted a penalty to leave the final score Moyvane 0–13, Ballydonoghue 2–5. Moyvane are now in the semi-final.
Minors:
Moyvane play Duagh in the final game of the North Kerry League on Monday in Duagh at 8pm
Weather:
Due to the fine weather, most farmers have their silage cut & hay saved. Crops are light this year, back a third and half in cases. Alot of people have their turf drawn home from the bog and, in some cases, a second crop cut. In prod long dry weather birds, crows and magpies would be hungry and in days gone by when most people would have garden of potatoes in dry weather would go to the potato crop and cause damage of late. I notice early in the morning outside my back door the birds devouring white heads of cabbage.
