MOYVANE/KNOCKANURE Community Games girls and boys who have qualified for the county finals in Tralee on June 22-23 have been asked to attend training in the sports field on the prior Tuesday evening at 7.30.
Moyvane/Knockanure are No. 21 this year.
St. Therese of Liseux: The Reliquary will arrive at the Cathedral Killarney at 2.00 on Tuesday June 19 and will leave on Wednesday June 20 at 12 noon. Pilgrims from the Listowel Deanery which includes pilgrims from the parish of Moyvane and Knockanure have been asked to keep watch on Wednesday morning from 7.30 to 9.30. Mass will be celebrated at 7.00. A bus will be organised if sufficient numbers are interested, leaving Moyvane at 5am. Anyone wishing to travel must book immediately with Shane Hanrahan 49132, Joan Kiely 49280, Eileen Collins 49478. Cost £5.
The wedding took place on Saturday last of Mary Scanlon, Inchamore, and Tim O’Connor, Asdee at the Church of the Assumption Moyvane.
The death has occurred of John Kearney, Presbytery View, Moyvane. His remains were removed to Moyvane Church on Friday last. He was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery following Requiem Mass on Saturday last. He is survived by his wife, sons, brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, and relatives.
Moyvane GAA: Seniors are playing on Saturday this weekend probably in the North Kerry league. Players are asked to check with their trainers o check the posters to confirm fixture.
Under-10: Moyvane U-10 should have a game this week so players are asked to check with their trainers about fixture. They have played a few games recently and have done very well indeed.
Juniors: Our juniors are playing Ballyheigue on Friday night in Ballyheigue in the Urban league. We are going well to date in this league but this game will be hard for us. A big effort is asked for and all players are asked to be there on good time.
Under-14: Moyvane are qualified for the semi-final of the North Kerry league and should have a game on Wednesday night. Players should check with their trainers.
Under-12: Our U-12 have no game on this Sunday but should be back in action again next week.
