Moyvane Notes – 16th March, 2002

MOYVANE I.C.A. will hold a coffee evening in the Marian Hall on Wednesday March 20 at 8.30pm to 9.30pm. This is in aid of the Irish Cancer Society to help them with the invaluable support which they give to cancer patients and their families. Please support.

Badminton – Moyvane division three league defeated Listowel 7-0. They will now meet a team from South Kerry in the final. The team was Nora Conyard, Siobhan Hogan, Jeanelle Griffin, Tony Barry, Pat Higgins, Mike Corridan and Ollie Conyard. The division three men’s team defeated Castleisland. That team was Tony Barry, Mike Corridan, Pat Higgins and Ollie Conyard.

The A.G.M. of Moyvane Bord na nOg took place on Friday night last in the Marian Hall. Officers elected were: chairman – Tomas Keane; secretary – Michael Walsh; team trainers under-10: Dan Flavin, Brendan O’Carroll, Tim Joe Sheehan, Ger Kennelly. Under-12: Paddy Leahy, John McEnery, Neilius Mulvihill. Under-14: Brendan Keane, Mike O’Connor, Mike Scanlon. Under-16: Tomas Keane, Mike O’Connor, Gerry Mulvihill, Michael Walsh. School Liaison Officer: Kevin Kiely.

The U-16 and U-14 should have their first outing in early April so training starts straight away. More details next week.

Seniors: The North Kerry league game was cancelled last week due to weather conditions. This Sunday the County League programme starts when we play St. Senan’s in Moyvane at 3pm.

Moyvane minors play Knocknagoshel on Monday 18 in Knocknagoshel at 5pm in the first round of the County League. All players gather at Brosnan’s corner at 4pm.
