Moyvane GAA:
Seniors: Despite playing well in all areas of the field, and leading 1-5 to 0-7 at half time, Moyvane seniors were defeated by Tarbert in the North Kerry League on Sunday last. Final score Moyvane 1-9, Tarbert 1-13.  Moyvane Team and Scorers: Chris Foley, Mike Woods, Diarmuid Leahy, Timmy Kennelly, Eoin O’Flaherty, Mossy Mulvihill, Aidan Keane (0-1), Eoin Stack, Donal Leahy, Cal O’Flynn (0-1), Denis Kennelly, Damien Flynn, John Jack Mulvihill, Paddy Curtin (1-6), Jackie Mulvihill (0-1).  Subs: Patrick Finucane for Mike Woods, D.J. Moyvane’s next game in the North Kerry League is Sunday March 22nd at home to Castleisland Desmonds at 12 noon.
Minors: The minors had a good win at home to Gneeveguilla in the county league on a score line of 5-4 to 2-4 on Saturday March 7th.  Team and Scorers, Shane McEnery, Paddy Greaney, Thomas Quinn, Edmund Sweeney, Conor Leahy, Seamus Lyons, James Flavin , Kevin Fitzmaurice (1-0), Stephen O’Carroll (1-0), Martin Sheehy (0-2), Padraig Keane (0-1), Con Mulvihill (2-0), Johnny Greaney (1-1). Moyvane’s next game is at home to Finuge in Round 4 of the County League on Saturday March 21st at 4pm.
Club Membership: Don’t forget club membership is now available at €40 for players and €20 for non players.  Membership fee can be paid to committee members.
Coiste na nOg: U12 training on Wednesday’s from 7pm-8pm.  Challenge game on Saturday March 21st at 11am at home to Naomh Eoin O’Currys. U14 training on Monday’s from 6pm-8pm. Can all U14’s and any player from U12 who wants to play please attend training. U16 training on Thursday’s from 7:30pm-8:30pm. U14 – Moyvane are away to Currow on Saturday March 21.  Bus leaves Moyvane at 3:30pm.
Ladies GAA: U12 training on Sundays from 1pm-2pm.  All players please attend.

Knockanure GAA Lotto:

Senior Badminton:
Congratulations to Michael J. O’Connor & Noel Gilbride on winning the Division 2 Doubles Championship in Tralee last Sunday. Jennifer Keane & Margaret Mary Harmon won the Division 2 doubles while Carolanne Warrilow & Margaret O’Donnell were finalists in Division 4. 22 Moyvane players competed in the Juvenile Badminton Club Tournament in Tralee on Saturday. This was a very close competition but Moyvane emerged victorious. Great credit is due to all the players as every point scored was needed to secure victory. Another successful County Kerry season has come to an end. Well done to everybody. The Community Games team are still to the good and will contest the Munster Finals in UL in two weeks time. Good luck and we hope you do the business again.
 

Moyvane ICA:
Moyvane ICA will serve teas at Bingo in The Marian Hall this Thursday night, March 19th in aid of Daffodil Day and the Irish Cancer Society. Please support this worthy cause.
 

West Limerick Community Radio:
West Limerick Community Radio will hold their monthly Car Boot Sale and Indoor Market in the Community centre, Newcastlewest next Sunday, March 22nd from 9am to 3pm. Gates open at 7.30. The Centre is located beside the Demense and next to the GAA pitch in Churchtown. Your kind support is requested. Call 087 6866450. Afternoon Tea Dance will be held in Fr. Casey’s Clubhouse as a fund raiser on Sunday, March 29th from 3pm to 6pm. Admission is just €8 and dancing to West Limerick 102 Radio Roadshow. Raffle for a Hamper sponsored by Abbeyfeale Farmer’s Market will be held.

Deaths:
The death has taken place of Elizabeth (Betty) Goulding, Knockanure. She is survived by her daughters Doreen (Corridan), Anne Marie (Deavy), Rosalish (Murphy) & Corita Goulding, sons John & Matt and extended family.
The death also took place in London of Margaret (Peg) Hodsoll, formerly Keane of Carrueragh. Sympathy is extended to both families.

 

Dawn Mass: 
Many of you from the parish like to attend the dawn Mass in Tarbert on Easter Sunday. Fr. Finucane and the organizers would like to extend a welcome to all of you again this year. The bonfire will again burn brightly and refreshments will be served by the the women’s hospitality group in the Community Centre.
