MOYVANE SENIOR BADMINTON
On Monday night the Division 5 team went down 3-4 in a very tight match v Kingdom (Castleisland). The team was Sarah Leahy, Olivia Hanrahan, Fiona Casey, Micheal Nolan, Dan Browne, Timmy Larkin and Oliver Carmody.Two of our Division 5 players played with Killarney teams during the week, Olivia Hanrahan was on the winning Ladies team and Micheal Nolan was on the winning Mens team. Division 3 mixed team defeated County 4-3 on Wednesday. The team was Helen Browne, Carmel Hudson, Francine Collins, Kevin Kennelly, James Sheehan, John Mulvihill and Timmy Noonan. In the Kerry Division 2 & 4 Singles championships the following were finalists, Division 4 Mens, Jamie Elliott, Division 2 Ladies, Elaine Hudson. Division 2 Mens final was an all Moyvane affair and resulted in Michael J. O’Connor defeating Donnacha Moloney. Timmy Hanrahan was finalist in the Plate. Congrats to all.

MOYVANE JUVENILE BADMINTON
Moyvane Girls and Boys competed in a Tournament held in the Aura Sport Complex in Killarney os Saturday, February 14th. The results are as follows:

  • Girls Under 13; Winner, Bríd Stack. Girls Under 13  Plate Winner, Claire Galvin. Girls Under 13: Plate Runner Up, Eva Browne.
  • Girls Under 15: Winner Maire Kennelly.
  • Boys Under 11: Plate Runner Up, Aidan Swan.
  • Boys Under 13: Runner Up, Christopher O’Donoghue.
  • Boys Under 17: Runner Up Michéal Collins. 

Well done to all who participated.

MOYVANE LADIES FOOTBALL
Old & Used Clothes Collection is taking place this Thursday, February 19th at 11am at the Community Centre.  Bags may be dropped at the Community Centre on Wednesday, February 18th between 6pm and 8pmpm.  All old clothes, curtains, bags, shoes etc accepted (no pillows/duvets).  Thanks for the support!

MOYVANE/KNOCKANURE SENIOR CITIZENS
A meeting will be held  after Mass, this Wednesday evening, February 18th in the Marian Hall at 8pm. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

MOYVANE/KNOCKANURE PARISH
The Annual General Meeting of The Parish Pastoral Council and Parish Liturgy Group will take place on Friday night,February 27th at 8pm in the Marian Hall.  New Members welcome.  It is important for the Parish to have as many Lay people as possible involved in the administration of the faith and the day to day running of the Parish – so please come along to our A.G.M. on Friday night February, 27th 2015. With the changes that are happening in the Church and the shortage of Priests – your input into the running of the PARISH IS MUCH NEEDED and appreciated.

DEATHS
The death took place on February 13th of Ellen Enright, nee Enright, Lisaniskea. She was predeceased by her husband Jerry and is survived by her children Helen, Margaret Mary, Teresa, John, Jerry and Dan, sister, brother, grandchildren, daughters in law, sons in law, sisters in law and extended family. Funeral Mass was celebrated in Knockanure Church with burial in Ahavoher Cemetery. 
The deaths have taken place of a number of former natives of Moyvane. Matty McGrath died last year in Herefordshire. He grew up in Gurtdromosillihy with his grandmother, Bridge (Shine) Kennelly.Dick Stack (Carrigaline and formerly of Gortdromasillihy, Moyvane) died recently. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary who ran a Nursery School while living in Moyvane. Dick is survived by two daughters, brothers John and Con, sister Marie and extended family. Johnny Enright, son of John and Bridge Enright of Tubbertoureen and New Houses, Moyvane died recently in England. May they rest in peace.
