Moyvane

Moyvane Notes – 16th June 2014

MOYVANE COMMUNITY PLAYGROUND:
It’s open at last. Congratulations to all involved in providing this fantastic facility for the young people of the parish. It is a work of art, without doubt the best playground in North Kerry and finished in record time. This is what the power of positive thinking can achieve. Since the barriers came down on Thursday evening the place has been packed, as it should be. There is something in there for everyone, from the toddler to the senior citizen. Do we realize how lucky we are in Moyvane? We have two halls, one for sport, the other for sit down events, such as meetings, Bingo etc. The football field has been developed to a high standard in the not too distant past. There is a soccer pitch and the Development Association has done trojan work over the years providing woodland walks and improving the image of the village but this is the icing on the cake. Those of you who have worked to provide this facility take a bow, you are to be complimented and congratulated. To the young people of the parish I would say please take care of your own facility, it is for you to enjoy, be proud of it, respect it and help to keep it in the condition it is currently in. Parents please ask your children to think of it as an extension of their home, and keep it in the condition that you would like your children to keep your house in. When entering and leaving the playground please be safe, the road through the village can be busy.
