Limerick West GIY:
Limerick West GIY, with the aim of inspiring people to grow their own food, will hold its July meeting in D&M Garden Centre, Croagh on Thursday, July 19th at 7.30pm with new growers and old hands all welcome. In a change to what was planned for this month, due to the very wet weather and with many gardens waterlogged, there will be a talk on keeping pigs and chickens (breeds/caring for etc.) along with all the regular items we cover. During this meeting we will also be looking for people to volunteer their garden as our first visit of the
growing season weather permitting. This would take place on Thursday, August 16th at a time best suited to the grower as part of our first visit to members gardens. GIY’s vision is for a healthier, more connected and more sustainable world where people grow their own food. The organisation brings people together in community groups and online to inspire and empower them to grow vegetables. More information from www.giyireland.com.
