He was a dedicated member of Moyvane GAA Club and was club secretary for many years. He also served as treasurer of the North Kerry Board. A proud Kerryman and a staunch supporter of the Kingdom, he followed his native Kerry year in year out in its quest for Sam Maguire. Having enjoyed a long life, he saw more All Ireland Finals than most and was a shrewd reader of the game. He was also an active member of Moyvane Carnival Committee during the 1970’s. On the business and farming front, he was Chairman of Newtownsandes Co Op for many years also. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret. He is survived by his sons, Sean, Frank & Niall, daughter Brid, brothers Jack & Mick and sister Eileen, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and many other relatives. May he rest in peace.
