Estuary AC:
At the recent AGM, the following officers were elected:

Moyvane GAA – Minors:
Moyvane minors play Duagh in the County League in Moyvane on Saturday, 24th of March at 5pm.

Seniors:
Moyvane seniors play Templenoe in the County League in Moyvane on Sunday, 25th of March at 2.30pm.

Chiropodist:
Chiropodist will attend the Marian Hall on Saturday, March 24th at 11am. Book with Eileen Quinn at 49472.

Museum:
A museum at the School will be opened this Wednesday night ,March 21st at 8pm by Gabriel Fitzmaurice.

Knockanure Development Association: 
The committee of Knockanure Development Association are about to form a company for the operation of the Community Centre, and would welcome any member of the community who wishes to become a Director of the Company to contact Dan Keane (Chairman) at 068-22813 or Mary Flavin (Secretary) at 068-23905.

Moyvane ICA:
Moyvane ICA are hosting an evening with Style Coach Mary O’Neill, Killorglin, on Tuesday 27th March at 8pm at the Marian Hall, Moyvane. Topics discussed on the night include: Dressing to enhance your body shape, Wardrobe analysis and organisation, Confidence coaching, Personal shopping for all occasions. Light refreshments will be served. Cost €5. Everyone welcome.

Old Story:
There was this farmer one time, who his wife gave him great help with the farm work Milking Cows, going to the Fair and many other farm chores. He was very proud of her. When he used go to the Pub He used to say she was a man by day and a woman by night.

North Kerry Together:
North Kerry Together and its West Limerick equivalents are organising a petition to lobby for a daily Bus Eireann Service linking Knockanure and Moyvane to Tralee and Limerick. It is envisaged that the bus would arrive in Tralee and Limerick before 9am and depart on the return journey after 5pm. It would suit workers, people doing training or apprenticeships, students, people with hospital appointments and those making hospital visits, as well as those who wish to avail of train and bus connections to other parts of the country. The bus would run 5 days a week and also serve the villages of Ardagh, Carraigkerry and Athea. Your signature is important so please sign the petitions in the Church porch, Holly’s Supermarket, Stack’s Butchers and Brosnan’s Bar. Please do not sign the petition more than once. Badminton:
The Div. 3 mixed team defeated County 6-1 and Kenmare 7-0; team was: Catriona Ambrose, Carmel Hudson, Jeanelle Griffin, Mary Lynch, Nora Conyard, Kevin Stack, Alan Kearney, Bryan Stack, Mike Corridan, and Ollie Conyard. The Div. 4 team defeated County and Kingdom both by 5-2; team was: Shauna Foley, Deirdre McElligott, Carolanne Warrilow, Olive Keane, Noirin Buckley, Donie Enright, Billy Lynch, Christopher McCarthy, Pat Walsh and Edward McCarthy. The Div.5 Ladies drew 3 all with Listowel; team was: Francien Collins, Krystle Crowley, Eleanor Sheehan and Eileen Roche. Div. 5 Men defeated Kingdom 5-1; team was: Sean Pender, Maurice Cuddigan, Padraig Hanrahan and John Corbett. At the Div. 3 Ladies Doubles Championship in Tralee, Carmel Hudson and Jeanelle Griffin were finalists. Congratulations to all.

Juvenile Badminton:
At the Mixed Championships in Tralee last week Elaine Hudson & P.J. Reynolds were finalists in u14. Aishling Flaherty & Gene O’Connor (Dingle) won u16 while Breda Lane & Darragh O’Sullivan (Dingle) were finalists.

Deaths:
The death took place recently of James (Jimmy) Beaton, Ahalahana, Moyvane and formerly of Dunoon, Scotland. He was in his mid-seventies. His remains were removed to Moyvane Church on Tuesday last. He was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery following Requiem Mass on Wednesday last. He is survived by his wife Birdie Mai, sons Hamish and Liam, daughters Margaret, Eilish, Mary, Barbara and Jane, brother Billy, grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

The death took place of John (Johnny) Stack, Murhur, Moyvane suddenly at his residence on Saturday March 17th. He was in his seventies. His remains will be removed to Moyvane Church on Monday. He will be buried in Ahavoher Cemetery following Requiem Mass on Tuesday. He is survived by his wife Noreen, sons Bobby, Jimmy, Brendan, Kevin and Aidan, brothers Pat and Dick, sister Kathleen, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved families.
