CHRISTMAS
It’s that time of year again, the season of good will, a time to down tools and enjoy all that’s good with family and friends. In the world we live in there is pressure from all sides but never forget that family is the most important thing at the end of the day. Enjoy every hour and every minute of your Christmas. Thank you for supporting the Blotto during the year and to those of you who come to Bingo on Thursday nights, thank you for your support.

MOYVANE
This has been a messy year in the parish of Moyvane. We have had more than of our share of agro and disruption. The arrival of Gas Networks and Murphy GMC changed everything and put enormous pressure on all roads and particularly the village. The shops have suffered big time and unfortunately they are still working on the Coilagurteen road. The roads have been restored….to a certain extent but some areas still leave a lot to be desired. I don’t know whose responsibility it is but someone needs to monitor the state of the roads going forward. Unfortunately we are heading in to another year of disruption where ESB Networks & Eirgrid, are about to decend upon us. Hopefully everyone has learned from the last episode and residents will be treated with respect from the beginning. All this disruption could be a matter of life or death for the village, the businesses have already suffered so much during 2017, the shops, the Post Office, the Creamery. Rural Ireland is being bombarded right, left and centre and don’t forget, as the ad says “When they’re gone, they’re gone” That applies to everything in the village.
