DEATHS
There have been so many deaths over the last few weeks it’s unbelievable.
- Liza Mulvihill of Main Street, Glin and formerly of Glenalappa East, Moyvane, died on the May 3rd in her 100th year.
- Agnes Mulvihill of Charles St., Listowel and formerly Moyvane was in her nineties
- Nora Walsh of Leitrim East was also in her nineties. Nora was wife of the late Jackie Walsh and mother of Mary, Maurice, Brendan, Timmy, Joe, Seán, Jerry, Michéal, Betty Anne and Pat. All three burials were in Murhur Graveyard.
- The death of Stacia Nelligan (née Hanrahan) of Kilbaha, Moyvane, after a very short illness, came as a shock to the parish especially so soon after her husband, Sean who died on August 18th, 2012. Stacia was also pre-deceased by her young son, Séan, and twin brother Jerry. She is survived by her children Bríd, Miriam, and Gearóid, son-in-law Séamus Ahern, grandchildren Clodagh, Anna, Mark, Sé, and Alex, sister-in-law Mary O’Connor, brothers-in-law Timmy and Tom Nelligan. Stacia was in her late sixties.
- Patsy Horan of Moyvane North lost his battle with life last week in his middle seventies. He is survived by his sister-in-law Kit Horan, nephews Padraig and John, John’s wife Eileen, niece Emer and her husband Alan, his long-time friend Bridie. His burial was also in Murhur Graveyard which makes it five burials in Murhur in about four weeks which is very unusual.
- The deaths of Heidi Deegan, in her late twenties, of Rusheen, Ballylongford and Darragh Lanigan, in his early thirties, of Kilpadogue, Tarbert certainly puts life in perspective. Most sincere sympathy to both families, particularly both mothers who are from Moyvane, Angela Deegan nee Flaherty, Keylod and Patricia Lanigan nee O’Connor, Kilbaha.
May they all rest in peace and may their families find comfort.
