BINGO AND BLOTTO: It’s an eeny, meeny, miny mo situation now. Last week I thought I knew where we were at but this week things are up in the air again. Hopefully we will be up and running but without a doubt there will be restrictions. It is now up to the government and none of us know what they are going to come up with. We will do our best to let you know as soon as we know. Feel free to make the phone call.
VILLAGE FESTIVAL NO. 28: Moyvane Development Association festival is back. After the disruption of last year due to Covid-19 we are delighted to resume our annual festival this Bank Holiday weekend. Preparations are being finalised for the weekend and hopefully we will have fine weather to safely allow you all to enjoy the activities to the full. Considering the current risks, we’re going to focus this year’s efforts on outdoor activities from Sunday October 24 to Bank Holiday Monday, October 25. Sunday will see a Vintage Tractor Run with Registration at the Community Sports Hall from 12 noon. The ever-popular Dog Show, open to all classes, will take place at 1.30pm in the Church Car Park followed by the Kiddies Tractor Run which will take place at 2.00pm, also in the Church Car Park. Bank Holiday Monday will kick off with the 6k run and 3k walk from the Community Sports Hall, Fancy Dress optional, with prize for best Fancy Dressed Runner & Walker. Registration from 9.30am to 0.15am. The North Kerry Harriers first Hunt of the Season leaves the village at 12 midday.
COMMUNITY PLANNING: What a great turnout we had at the first of our planning meetings last week. It was wonderful to see members of our community come together and engage in such positive discussion about the future of our area, identifying both the challenges we face, and the opportunities that are available to us as a community. To those that were able to come along, we hope you enjoyed the evening and are excited about what lies ahead. To those that were unable to come along, do not worry! Please mark your diary and join us at the next meeting, on November 16 in the Community Sports Hall starting at 8.00pm. Just a quick reminder to take our online survey if you haven’t already done so. This survey will provide valuable feedback, in addition to our upcoming community meetings. We want to hear from you! Take 5 minutes to have your say.
