Moyvane Notes – 19th June, 2004

GAA

THE Juniors had a great win over neighbours Tarbert in the Urban league last week. They are still unbeaten in this league and are on course for a semi-final place. On Friday, June 25 they take on Ballyheigue in Ballyheigue at 8.00pm. The under-12s are playing Brosna in Moyvane this Thursday at 7.00pm. and next Sunday they take on Dr. Crokes in Moyvane at 7.00pm. The under-14s still have a game with Finuge to be arranged in the North Kerry league. The under-16s start their County league next Monday with a game away to Glenflesk. Bus will leave the corner at 6.00pm. Club players Eddie Bowler and Johnny Mulvihill played with the Kerry Juniors last Sunday. Unfortunately they did not get the right result. Well done also to the senior side on reaching the Munster Final.



CHARITY WALK

It’s all systems go for the Brothers of Charity Sponsored Walk on the Shannon Way this Sunday. The Walk, which will be led by Eoin Liston, Jimmy Deenihan and Ogie Moran will commemce at 1.00pm sharp from Cnoc an Oir and will finish at the Tarbert Bridewell at approximately 7.30pm. People are invited to walk all or part of the journey, and it is hoped to raise €20,000 for new facilities at the Listowel Clinic. The main group hopes to be in Farranstack for 1.30pm, Moran’s Cross at 2.30pm, Ahanagran at 3.30pm, Heaphy’s Car Park in Ballylongford at 4.30pm, Meelcon (Cross of the Woods) at 6.00pm, and finishing at Tarbert Bridewell at 7.30pm approximately. Light refreshments will be served at the Lanterns Hotel after the walk where the bogadeers will welcome home the walkers.
