ON Friday, a large crowd of people attended the farewell and presentation to Mrs. Nola Adams who retired as principal of Murhur School. Mrs. Adams thanked the people for coming, and to Kathleen Galvin of the parents committee who made the presentation of a number of gifts, on behalf of the parish. The MC for the night was the new principal. poet Gabriel Fitzmaurice.
Michael O’Sullivan, Main Street, Moyvane and Elizabeth O’Sullivan, Coilbee, Listowel married at St. Mary’s Church, Listowel. The reception was held in the Lanterns Hotel, Tarbert. Michael is well known as he is a member of staff of the local Newtonnsandes Creamery
The Propagation of the Faith diocesan collection will be taken up at all Masses this weekend.
At the Marian Hall, Moyvane this Friday, at 8 o’clock the film “Hard Times 3” will show. A story of land, love and death set in the 1950’s in Athea. It will be launched by Martin Ferris T.D. followed by a dance to Dave Rea, Cork.
The video will be on sale on the night.
Work is going on in Knockanure village with the laying of underground cables for electricity and telephone, and the construction of new steel pylons. The road through the village will also be resurfaced. The total cost of these improvements is expected to cost in the region of E50,000.
G.A.A. – Moyvane seniors are playing Beale in the North Kerry championship on Sunday next in Asdee at 2.30pm.
Moyvane under-21s were well beaten by Duagh in the North Kerry championship.
