DEFIBRILLATOR
The Youth Club has been good enough to raise funds for a defibrillator but it only works if people are trained to use it. This is very important piece of equipment and can save lives. MOYVANE SENIOR BADMINTON
The Division 3 team travelled to Killarney on Monday night and defeated Killarney 5-2. The team was Helen Browne, Jeanelle  Griffin, Carmel Hudson, Kevin Kennelly, James Sheehan, John M.  Mulvihill and Christopher McCarthy. The Division 5 team were at home to Killarney on Thursday night and in a very tight match lost 5-2. Team was Olivia Hanrahan,  Fiona Casey, Sars Leahy, Liam Corridan, Micheal Nolan and Oliver  Carmody.  The Munster Seniors 2 and Graduates Competition was played in Killarney on Sunday. Singles winner was Michael J. O’Connor. Michael was 15-0 down in the third set  and battled back to win. Congratulations Michael. In the Doubles Donnacha  Moloney and Pat Kearney were finalists, well done lads.
 
MOYVANE KNOCKANURE COMMUNITY GAMES
The following events will be held over the coming weeks:

  • Sunday, March 1st – Boys u10 Indoor Soccer u8 to u16
  • Saturday, March 7th – u10 and u12 handwriting

LADIES FOOTBALL
The ladies football club would like to thank everyone who contributed to the recent church gate collection. The amount collected was €545.47.

SYMPATHY
The death occurred last week of Kit Scanlon (nee Meehan) of Leitrim West and Lower Aughrim. Kit is survived by her children, Timmy, Noreen, Betty, Peggy, Marie, Rena, Tom & Pat, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister, Liz and extended family. She was predeceased by her husband, Johnny, grandson, Patrick Hughes and infand grandchildren. Funeral Mass was celebrated in the Church of the Assumption, Moyvane on Sunday last with burial in Ahavoher Cemetery.
Catherine Hudson (nee McGrath) of Kilbaha, Moyvane passed away last weekend. She was wife of the late  Dick Hudson and mother of the late John. Catherine is survived by her children Kathleen, Bridie, Jim, Richard, and Margaret, grandchildren and  great-grandchildren.  Funeral Mass was celebrated in the Church of the Assumption, Moyvane on Monday with burial in Ahavoher Cemetery.
Sympathy is also extended to Marie Walsh, Barragougeen, Moyvane on the death of her sister, Josephine (Josie) McNamara of Ahanagran, Middle, Ballylongford. May they rest in peace.
