APPRECIATION: I must congratulate Fr. Kevin on what he has done over the last eight months. He has gone above and beyond the call of duty and perhaps we haven’t shown how much we appreciate it. Last week’s Mass for all those who have left us during the year was a true example of how thoughtful and caring the man is. Most of us have families to support us and we get on with our lives and forget that our clergy live on their own far from their families and the people they grew up with. From the word go he has played a blinder, with his side door Masses and more recently his radio Masses. Sometimes we forget to show our appreciation for what’s going on around us, we just ignore it but a word of appreciation never went astray. Indeed we are much faster to complain so well done Fr. Kevin.

THOSE WHO HAVE LEFT US: We have had a rough time in Moyvane this year as those of you who live here will know. Kathleen O’Brien, wife of Mick, Church Road lost her life in the last couple of weeks. Kathleen was a lovely, lovely lady who was a respected resident of the village for many years since herself and Mick’s relocation from England many years ago. Sincere sympathy is extended to her family. John Joe Barry of Knockanure Village passed away on November 16 in University Hospital, Kerry. He was another man who had returned to his home place with his family from Birmingham. Sincere sympathy to all his family. May they rest in peace.
