ICA Family Fun Day:
The ICA Family Fun Day which took place on Sunday, November 27th was a great success. Prize winners on the draw card were as follows: First Prize – Hamper (sponsored by Newtownsandes Co-op): Eamon Lally, Ahalahana. Second Prize – Turkey (sponsored by Tom and Eileen Roche, The Village Grill): Marie Walsh, Lower Aughrim. Third Prize – Ham (sponsored by Holly’s Gala): Liam Roche and Siobhan Delaney, Ahalahana. Fourth Prize – Home made Christmas cake, (sponsored by Esther Foley): Catherine Hannon, Woodgrove. Guess the name of the Teddy: Sean Slemon, Ahalahana and Leah Slemon guessed the number of sweets in the jar! A great day was had by all.
Juvenile GAA:
Thanks to Eddie Bowler for bringing Colm Cooper, The Gooch, to the Marian Hall on Wednesday last, to present the u12 girls their medals and hoodies. There was great exitement for the young and not so young! The u13 boys who won Division 2 of the County League also received their medals from the Kerry Captain. Thanks to all involved and looking forward to another good year.
Glin Horse Fair:
The annual Horse and Cattle fair will be held on Saturday next, December 3rd in the square in Glin, Co Limerick. A great day of fun and entertainment, nostalgia and craic is to be had as one relives the memories of the past with cattle, sheep, horses, pigs, hens, geese, turkeys, and many other farmyard animals and pets being traded. The streets will be lined with street vendors trading in all types of wares from a needle to an anchor and all this can be enjoyed with a Christmas atmosphere.
Newtownsandes Co-Op:
The Dinner Dance held last Friday night in the Listowel Arms Hotel was once again a great success. The meal,band and organisation all shone forth and with a pre-arranged draw for eighty four Spot Prizes it was a most enjoyable night.
Kerry Chamber Choir and Orchestra along with Tarbert Folk Group and senior Choir will give an evening of music and song in St. Mary’s Church Tarbert on Sunday, December 4th, 2011 at 8pm. Everyone most welcome to attend.
