Moyvane Notes – 2nd January, 2011

Happy New Year:
Happy New Year to all of you and may 2011 be good to you.

Moyvane Bingo:

Don’t forget there IS Bingo this Thursday night (30th December).

Moyvane GAA:
Club AGM: The AGM of Moyvane GAA will take place in the Marion Hall, Moyvane on Friday, January 7th 2011 at 8pm. The deadline for Executive Committee Nominations is Friday, January 1st, 2011. All nominations have to be with the Secretary (087-9817883) on or before this date.
Coiste na nOg Calendar: Moyvane Coiste na nÓg have launched a 2011 calendar in acknowledgement of a very successful year in both youth football and Scór. All of the competing age groups won out their divisions, which is an excellent achievement. The calendar is a collection of team photos from U8’s to U16’s and also contains some memorabilia pictures of past footballers and events of Moyvane G.A.A. All proceeds of this will go the running costs that were accrued during this fantastic year and will help to lay the foundation for another good year ahead for underage football. A special thanks to all of our sponsors for their generosity and support in the current economic climate, it is much appreciated. Míle buíochas also to the many people that helped in the compilation of the calendar. The calendar is on sale in a selection of local shops and businesses in Moyvane and Knockanure at a cost of 10 euro. It is an ideal present for loved ones both home and away.
Youth Awards Night: Moyvane Coiste na nÓg are hosting an Awards Night to celebrate the achievements of all our underage players during the past year. The celebration will take place on Saturday, January 8th, 2011 in Kirby’s Lanterns Hotel. For further details contact Mairead O’Sullivan Club Secretary on 086 3689061.
U12: Coiste na nÓg: It has been an excellent 2010 for the under 12’s – Winning the North Kerry Legaue Division 2 by beating John Mitchell’s in a replay and finishing second in Round 1 and 2 in the County League, losing only one match to the eventual winners. This was the last year for competition in under 12’s and it was fantastic to end it on a winning streak. The effort and commitment by all the players, the respect they showed to the opposing teams, referees and mentors was of the highest order. Thanks to Kieran Stack and John Dillon for their time during the year and a special thanks to Tom Shanahan, who took time out from his holidays to take the team for training sessions, it was much appreciated. Thanks also to the parents for their support in commuting to and from various matches throughout the season.
