Congratulations to Paul O’Flaherty on winning a Gold medal at the All Ireland Senior Championships in Carlingford, Co. Louth. Some achievement Paul, keep it up and we’ll follow you all the way to the Olympics.

Ladies Football:
All age groups are very busy now. The u16s had a good victory over Beale in Ballylongford on Wednesday night last week in the County League. There’s just a few matches left so keep it up girls. The u14s were out on Sunday, June 30th against Beale in the Division 4 County League Semi Final. This was a cracking game and Moyvane girls were eventual winners 3-05 to 2-01. That puts them through to the Final where they will play either Cromane or Dr Crokes. That date still has to be confirmed. The u12s played Spa in Clounmacon on Friday, June 28 and also had a great win. This will give them confidence as they are struggling against stronger and biggger panels, so well done to all. Last and not least the u8s and u10s had a great day at the blitz in Abbeydorney on Saturday, June 29. They played 4 games and preformed very well. The Club would like to thank all the mentors, Maura Moore, Eddie Bowler, Teresa S. Mulvihill, Catherine Keane, Maggie Large and Dermot Mulvihill and also the parents for their support. Best of luck in the Final to the u14s.

Sympathy:
The death took place last week of Maggie Kennelly, Knockanure, equally as well known as Maggie Shanahan! Maggie was a great character, always had a smile, never short of a funny story, a better way to describe her might be light hearted but life was not always easy, she worked hard and had some troubled times but always came out the other side, with a smile. Her life was a long one, she was outgoing but there is a time to go and Maggie’s came last week. I’m sure she left with no regrets and maybe there is Bingo up there and without doubt she will be first in line to play. Sympathy is extended to all her family.
