MARIAN HALL BLOTTO

FESTIVAL TIME
Just days away from this year’s Festival and shades of Moyvane Carnival with dancing in the Marquee to Royal Flush on Friday night. It is 35 years since the first Carnival in Moyvane so a new generation will revisit where it all happened for many of their parents.
Saturday is children’s day with loads of activities for every age group. There will be a workshop in the community centre for children over 5 and a FIFA tournament for age 10 and upwards. At 2pm the semi-finals of the GAA Tournament will be held. On Saturday night the adults have a chance to enjoy themselves at the annual Boro Buffet with live music and entertainment.
Sunday is Vintage day with Mini Trade Show, craft fair and Farmer’s Market starting at 11.30am. At 1pm the Youth Club walk will begin. This is a fundraiser in aid of a defibrillator for the village, a very important item. The Dog Show will be in the Church car park at 2pm. At 2.30pm you have the Bonnie Baby and Glamorous Granny competitions in the Community Centre with the Puppet Show at 3pm. Sunday night in the Marian Hall you can enjoy a Variety Concert which includes a Comedy Sketch. Doors open at 7.30pm.
Monday Sam Maguire comes to Moyvane from 11am to 1pm and of course there’s the first Hunt of the season starting at 12 noon. Halloween Fancy Dress Party for u12’s will be held at 1.30pm in the Marian Hall and the final of the Gaa Football Tournament is at 2pm with proceeds going to Bru Columbanus, Cork.

LADIES FOOTBALL
The u12s girls played Kerins O Rahillys in Ballyduff on Sunday, October 12th in their last North Kerry game and unfortunately after playing really well they lost out by 2 points. Well done to all concerned.
The u16s were away to Beale on Thursday, October 16th and had a great match, in spite of the poor weather conditions. Moyvane won well in the end.
There will be an old and used clothes collection on Thursday, October 30th from 6pm to 8pm at the Community Centre, Moyvane and Friday, October 31st up to 11am. All unwanted items accepted including towels, curtains, old clean clothes, bags, belts, shoes, (no duvets /pillows). Thanks to everybody for your support.

BOOK LAUNCH
A new entitled “Hidden Kerry, Keys to the Kingdom” by Breda Joy will be launched in the Seanchai Centre, The Square, Listowel on this Friday, October 24th at 7.30pm. All welcome.

RAMBLING HOUSE
Listowel Rambling House will take place in the Seanchaí Literary Centre on Thursday, October 30th from 9.15 pm. Admission free, tea/coffee served.
