THE Moyvane/Knockanure Gun club received generous contribution to last weekend’s church gate collection.
The death has occurred of Bridge Keane, Keylod. Her remains were removed to Moyvane church. She was buried in Ahavoher cemetery following Service of Prayer on Good Friday. She is survived by her husband, sons, and relatives.
The death has also occurred of Margaret Kennelly, Gortdromagowna. She is survived by her sons, daughters and relatives. Interment took place in Avoher cemetery.
The death has occurred of St. Theophane Collins, Heuston, Texas, and late of the Glin Road.
Moyvane/Knockanure Community Games badminton team completed in the County finals in Causeway. The team were Christopher McCarthy Diarmuid Fitzmaurice, Myles Kearney, Ivan O’Brien, Kieran Fitzmaurice, Bridget McCarthy, Fiona Mullins, Louise Behan, Marian O’Sullivan, Margaret Ann O’Flaherty. Their team manager is John McCarthy. The Community game U/13 basketball team completed in Listowel Community Center on Monday. The team were Regina Galvin, Siobhan Hanrahan, Lynda O’Sullivan, Bridie Hanrahan, Aisling Fitzmaurice, Louise Behan, Katie Galvin, Aisling Kennelly, Lindsey Buckley, Michelle Kennelly. Team coaches Carrie Fitzmaurice and Deirdre Moloney.
GAA Minors – Moyvane will play Ballylongford in Ballylongford on Friday, April 20 at 7pm in the County League. All players are asked to be at Brosnan’s corner at 6.30pm sharp. The game with Currow was cancelled last week and players have been asked to check posters regarding refixture.
Seniors – Moyvane were defeated by Skellig Rangers in the County league on Sunday last. This was a disappointing result for us as we had targeted the County league this year for promotion so we have to bet things going again very soon. Final score Skellig Rangers 1-10, Moyvane 0-7. Next week its back to North Kerry league and there is a double round. On Saturday night, they will play Ballylongford in Moyvane at 7pm and on Sunday they are playing Desmonds in Castleisland at 2.30pm.
Juniors – Moyvane played Ballylongford on Tuesday night in Moyvane in the North Kerry league.
U/14 – Moyvane will play Asdee in the County League on Sunday, April 22 in Moyvane at 12noon. All players are asked to be in the dressing room at 11.45 sharp.
U/12 – They are starting their league with a game against Ballyduff in Moyvane on Sunday, April 29. Training on Sunday morning at 12 noon.
Blotto – The GAA has got involved in the Blotto. Anyone interested in getting involved, contact any of the committee.
Badminton – The Division 3 A team booked a place in the league final with Causeway when they defeated Sneem 5-2 on Thursday. The team was John M. Mulvihill, Michael O’Connor, Pat Higgins, Brid Ahern, Nora Conyard and Siobhan Hogan. The final will be played in Castleisland on Wednesday night. The best of luck to them.
The Kerry Badminton Social will be held in the River Island, Castleisland on Saturday night.
The club end of season Tournament will be held on Monday night next, April 23, starting time to be arranged.
