Moyvane/Knockanure Community Games:
Moyvane/Knockanure community games committee would like to thank all those who contributed to their Church Gate collection last weekend. Up coming events include Art for boys and girls from U8 to U16. Closing date for U10 boys and girls Hand Writing is Thursday, February 23rd. U15 mixed culture corner and U14 Mixed Drama and U14 Recitation closing date is Monday, February 27th. U14 Quiz closing date is Tuesday, March 6th. Any boys and girls from the parishes of Moyvane and Knockanure who would like to take part in any of the above events should contact Carmel at 0879267871 or Kathy at 068 52767.

Moyvane Development Association:
Moyvane Development Association will hold their AGM in the Marian Hall on Tuesday, March 6th at 9pm. New members would be very welcome, if you feel you can contribute to your local area please do come along.

Moyvane GAA:
Seniors
: Moyvane seniors will kick off their 2012 North Kerry League Division 2 campaign at home to Knocknagoshel on Sunday, February 26th at 2pm. 
Minors: Moyvane minors have their first County League Division 5 game at home to Knock/Brosna on Saturday, February 25th. Please check fixture posters for the time of this fixture. 
Membership: Club membership is now open at €40 for players and €20 for non-players.  Membership can be paid to any committee member.  Membership will close for 2012 on Friday, March 23rd, as members must be officially registered with Croke Park.
Club Lotto: The Club is continuing their successful Lotto subscription for the coming year. You the opportunity to buy the lotto for a yearly sum of €100, which gives you two free draws per year. For further details please contact any committee member.

Scór na bPáistí: 

The very best of luck to the children of Murhur National School who will participate in Solo Singing, Instrumental Music, Recitation, Ballad Group and Quiz in the North Kerry Finals of Scór na bPaisti on Sunday, February 26th in the Tintean Theatre, Ballybunion at 3pm sharp. 

Parents Association:

The Parents Association of Scoil Chorp Chriost, Knockanure are holding a Pub Quiz in Flynn’s Bar, Knockanure on Friday, March 2nd. Tables of four will set you back €20. Come and have a fun night out and help support your local school.

Senior Badminton:
On Thursday last the Division 5 Ladies and Men played Listowel at home. The Ladies, Suzanne Keane, Charlotte Fitzgerald, Celia O’Grady and Eileen Roche won 4-0 and the Men, Timmy Flaherty, Timmy Larkin , Mike Ryan and Oliver Carmody won 3-1. The Division 2 Men defeated Killarney 206/190 points. Team was Pat Kearney, Donie Enright, Denis Buckley and Timmy Duggan. Division 2 & 4 Singles Championships were played in Castleisland on Sunday. Division 4 Men’s Singles was won by Kevin Kennelly and the Plate was won by Chris McCarthy. Elaine Hudson competed in a very tight Division 2 Ladies Final. Division 2 Men’s Singles was an all Moyvane final between Denis Buckley and Timmy Duggan and resulted in a win for Denis.

Tea Dance:
All roads lead to Tarbert Community Centre next Sunday afternoon February 26th, for the monthly Tea Dance. The very popular Stevie Donegan will provide the music between the hours of 3pm and 5:30pm. Admission is only €5 and refreshments will be served. Come along and dance away those winter blues.

North Kerry Day Care Centre:
Listowel runs a service for older people in the North Kerry area. The day includes transport, morning tea/coffee, full lunch, activities and gentle exercises with nurse support. If you are interested in attending, please contact Isabel on 087-9080124.

Public Meeting:
A public meeting on the closure of the Garda barracks in Moyvane & Ballylongford will be held on Wednesday, February 22nd in the Assembly Hall in Tarbert Comprehensive School. Senior Garda representatives will be in attendance.

Knockanure Community Centre:
North and East Kerry Development are giving an information evening on the supports available under the Leader Programme on Thursday, February 23rd at 7.30pm at the Community Centre in Knockanure. Any further information, please contact Mary Stack on 086-1076813.
