Moyvane Notes – 21st June, 2005

 GAA NOTES
SENIORS   Moyvane’s play St.Senans in the County league on Sat. night.    This is a very important game for our lads as points are vital to staying in Div. 4.   The game is in Mountcoal at 8pm.  


JUNIORS   Moyvane lost to Lispole on Fri. night last in the Urban league.  We play Ballyheigue in Moyvane on Fri. next in the final round.  A win here is vital if we are to have any interest in the playoff stages.


MINORS   Training for our minor and U16 squads takes place on Fri. night at 8pm.

STAND    Roofing of the stand should be going ahead within the next week so again we ask people to be careful around the stand and please obey the warning signs

UNDER 12   Moyvane play Gneeveguilla in the County league on Sun. next in Gneeveguilla at 7pm.  All players are asked to be at the corner at  5.30pm

UNDER 14    Moyvane play Knocknagoshel in Moyvane on Wed. 22nd June at 7.30pm.   Players should be in the dressing rooms at 7pm sharp.
 
TEE SHIRTS   Moyvane G.A.A. tee shirts are on sale from the secretary Teddy Keane at 15 Euro each.  We have them in all sizes so support your club and wear your colours at get good value as well.

BLOTTO    The G.A.A. ask their supporters and players to help sell more blotto as we are totally depending on its income for to run the club.

Cancer Collection : Thanks to all those who helped & donated to the Collection. Total Collected was €1,030.


Senior  Citizens : Day Trip to Ballybunion on Sunday next June 26th.  Cost €10  this includes  bus, lunch, afternoon dancing,  evening tea. Depart Moyvane 12pm Book with Maureen Nolan  49365 or Eileen Collins 49478.


Moyvane I. C. A : On  our Annual Outing this year we will visit Tipperary on Friday  1st July. Hot lunch and evening tea included. Cost €45. Payment  on  booking with Eileen Roche or Marie Walsh as soon as possible.


A fundraising night will be held at the All Star Bar Moyvane in aid of Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children Crumlin on friday night June 24th. Music by Paddy Quilligan


The  Moyvane Charity Walk takes place on Tuesday 26th July  in aid  of the local St. Vincent De Paul and Abhaile Respite (which  caters for Nano  Nagle children and their parents). Sponsorship  cards available from Jill McCarthy, Sports Officer


The Moyvane /  Knockanure Youth Club wishes to express their sincere gratitude  to everyone who contributed so generously to their Church Gate  Collection on  June 4th/ 5th. A total of  €680 was collected.


Listowel Castle is now  open to the public for guided tours. Tours are  available daily  from 9.30am to 4.30pm and depart from the Seanchai Centre,  The  Square, Listowel. Admission is free in 2005.


The Parents and children that took part in the Sports in late May in Moyvane wish to thank the Moyvane GAA for the full use of their field, also to Mrs Brid Flavin for the work she undertook  for the children thanks Brid and well done.

Deaths : The death took place recently of  Pat McElligott, Castletroy, Limerick and Moyvane His remains were removed to Monaleen Church Limerick on saturday. He was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery following Requiem Mass on sunday. He is survived by his wife Mary (nee Nolan Moyvane South), son Paul, daughter Fiona, brother Liam, sisters Maureen and Joan, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces and extended family. The death took place recently of Mary Wallace (nee Mulvihill) Tullyleague Glin and late of upper Aughrim Moyvane. She was 90 years of age. Her remains were removed to Glin Parish Church on Monday. She was buried in Kilfergus Cemetery following requiem Mass on tuesday. She is survived by her family, relatives and friends. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved families
