Moyvane Notes – 22nd February, 2003

MOYVANE/KNOCKANURE

THE first event of County Kerry Community games was held in Moyvane Community Centre last Saturday. It was under-15 Badminton. It was a great day of badminton with Listowel receiving gold medals, Moyvane/Knockanure receiving silver medals, Glenflesk receiving bronze medals and Duagh/Lyre receiving certs.

The Moyvane/Knockanure team were: Dermot Keane, Aidan O’Connor Brian Walsh, Ivan O’Brien, Kieran Kiely, Bridget McCarthy, Aisling Fitzmaurice, Louise Behan, Sioban Hanrahan, Margaret O’Flaherty. John McCarthy, Eileen Roche, Peggy Horan, Roby Chute, Neilus Collins helped on the day, also Moyvane Community Centre committee gave the use of the hall.

The A.G.M. of Moyvane Bord na nOg will take place on Wednesday 19 in the Marian Hall at 8pm sharp. We would like to see a few more people get involved and to help out as a lot of work goes into running under-age teams. Meeting will be upstairs in the hall.

Moyvane seniors are fixed to play the final of the Michael Kennelly Cup on Sunday next against Finuge. Players are asked to cheek local posters for venue and time clarification.

A special meeting to appoint a senior team trainer and selectors will take place on Friday night 21 at 8pm in the Marian Hall. All players and anybody interested are asked to be there.

The A.G.M. of Moyvane Fianna Fail will take place on Monday next in the Marian Hall at 9pm. All members are asked to attend and new members welcome.
