Senior Badminton:
Playing in Listowel on Friday last, Moyvane won the Division 3 Kerry league title for the fifth time by beating County (Tralee) in the final. Saorcha Fitzgerald and Dermot Keane won both their singles matches. The doubles saw both ladies, Carmel Hudson and Jeanelle Griffin and men, James Sheehan and Donnacha Moloney win their first sets, however the County pairings fought back to take the second and third in the ladies and the men also lost the second and served for the match at 20-19 but, after a battle, lost 22-20, so it was all to play for in the mixed. The first was a replay of the mixed doubles Championship final and this time Saorcha and Donnacha were victorious in two sets as were the other two pairs Carmel & James, and Elaine and Dermot, a 5-2 victory clinched for Moyvane. Michael Corridan and Kevin Stack had played their part in previous matches. Well done to the whole team and their managers Michael Corridan and Donie Enright. A large number of supporters cheered on both teams. Best of luck in the Munster league finals in UL on May 7th.
