North Kerry SFC Final:
Huge crowds are expected to attend the North Kerry Final between Listowel and Ballyduff which will be played on Tuesday, St. Stephen's Day in Moyvane and should make a great atmosphere in the village afterwards. The programme of events are as follows:
- 12.45pm – U-21 Championship Quarter final between Beale and Asdee/Ballylongford.
- 2pm – Traditional Music
- 2.20pm – Arrival of Listowel Emmets on the field
- 2.23pm – Arrival of the defending champions Ballyduff on the field.
- 2.28pm – Amhrán na bhFiann will be sung by Karen Trench
- 2.30pm – Start of the Senior Final
- 3.05pm – Presentation of the great Beale team of 1981/82
- 3.20pm – Start of the second half of the senior final
- 4pm – Presentation of the Eamonn O'Donoghue Cup to the winning captain by the Chairman of the North Kerry Football Board, Der O'Connor
In the event of a draw, the final replay will take place in Moyvane on Sunday 31st December.
Irish Night:
By the local branch of Comhaltas will take place in Speedy's Bar on Thursday night, 28th December.
Old Story:
This man after spending many years in America, he returned home and called to a relative, he asked the relative would he know of any place he could stay, and the relative said you can stay here. The returned immigrant said no, but the people in the house insisted he should stay with them, he had with him an old fashioned trunk which he kept in his room, and he used also say there is something in there for the rainy day, so within 2 years the man passed away, after the funeral they returned home and opened the trunk and only to find an umbrella in the trunk.
Cancer Society:

Senior Badminton:
Recent results include Carmel Hudson – finalist in the Waterstone Cup Div 3, and Denis Buckley – finalist in the Div 1&2 plate played in Tralee.
The Division 3 Ladies League is now complete and, having defeated all teams in the competition, including Sneem and Kenmare, the Moyvane Ladies emerged victorious. The team was Carmel Hudson, Catriona Ambrose, Jeanelle Griffin, Mary Lynch & Mgt. A. Flaherty.
The Christmas fun tournament took place on Monday night. Winners of the ladies competition were Olive Keane & Carolanne Warrilow. Runners-up were Nora Conyard & Eleanor Sheehan. Mens winners were John M. Mulvihill & Christopher McCarthy. Runners-up were Alan Kearney & Ed. McCarthy.
The Mixed leagues commence immediately after Christmas. To all players – A very happy Christmas and a successful New Year.

Death:
The death took place recently of Nora Foran (nee Enright) London and late of Aughrim. The funeral took place in London. She is survived by her sister Ciss.
The death took place recently of Kathleen Mulvihill (nee Woulfe) Beale. She taught in Murhur National School in the 1940’s. Funeral took place in Ballybunion.
The death took place recently of John Stackpoole, England and late of Upper Aughrim. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved families.
