Moyvane Notes – 23rd January, 2008

Senior Badminton:
Congratulations to the Division 4 mens team which defeated Killarney 4-0 to win the Mens League. They won the first two games comfortably, but they worked hard and held their nerves to win the next two and take the title. The team was Christopher McCarthy, Myles Kearney, Kevin Kennelly, Ed. McCarthy and Pat Walsh. Well done to all.

The Division 4 mixed team defeated Listowel 4-3 in Moyvane on Wednesday last. The team was Carol Ann Warrilow, Mgt. O'Donnell, Deirdre McElligott, Olive Keane, Ed. McCarthy, Myles Kearney, Kevin Kennelly and Pat Walsh.

The Division 3 mixed team defeated Killarney 4-3 in Killarney. The team was Marguerite Lynch, Carmel Hudson, Jeaanelle Griffin, Julie Fitzmaurice, Donie Enright, Kevin Stack, and Alan Kearney.

Moyvane Development Association:
The A.G.M of the Moyvane Development Association will take place on Tuesday, 29th of January at 9pm in the Marian Hall. All are welcome to attend and new members alike.

Ardfert Retreat Centre:
Saturday 2nd February 10am to 5pm. Workshop for Ministers of the Word – for new and experienced readers to learn how to prepare a text to benefit from practical sessions, with Helen Wynne I.J.S. Booking: Tel. 066 7134276.

Senior Citizens:
The next meal for the elderly will be held on January 28th in Knockanure Community Centre. Anybody who wishes to attend, please contact (068) 49438 or (068) 49250 before Friday 25th January.

Knockanure Community Centre:

Tarbert Comprehensive Public Meeting:
A Public Meeting will take place at Tarbert Comprehensive School on Wednesday January 23rd at 7.30pm to discuss the provision of Adult Education in the area. All are welcome.

St. Michael's College Enrolment:
St. Michael's College will hold their Enrolment and Open Night for the Academic year 2008/2009 on Wednesday 30th January 2008 from 7pm to 9pm. All welcome.

Seanchaí Centre:
The Seanchaí Centre, Listowel will commence 'The Art of Storytelling' – a six-week storytelling workshop programme – with renowned storyteller Eddie Linehan on Monday 28th January at 7pm. GAA Social:
There are still some tickets available for the Moyvane GAA social which will be held in Kirby's The Lanterns Hotel on Friday 8th February at 8pm. Music by PJ Murrihy followed by disco. Presentation on the night to Sean Walsh on his 10 years as County Chairman along with Novice County Championship medal presentation to the Senior Team. Anyone wishing to purchase tickets are asked to do so as soon as possible from Committee Members or by contacting 087-9817883.
