Moyvane Notes – 23rd June, 2001

MOYVANE seniors play Tarbert in the county league on Saturday night in Tarbert at 8pm.

Moyvane under-10 should have a game on Thursday night so players are asked to check with their trainers about fixture.

Juniors had a good win over Ballyheigue in the Urban league last week on a score of 3-10 to 1-6. Next Friday night they are playing St. Pats in Blenerville at 8pm.

Moyvane under-14 are qualified for the semi-final of the North Kerry league and should have a game on Wednesday night. Players should check with their trainers.

Under-12 are playing Desmonds in Moyvane on Sunday night at 7. All players are asked to be in the dressing rooms at 6.45.

Moyvane under-16 are starting their county league programme with a game against Currow in Moyvane on Monday June 25 at 8pm. All players are asked to be in the dressing rooms at 7.45.

Betty Greaney, Leitrim Middle, Moyvane won last week’s jackpot of £2,300. The winning numbers were 6, 7, 20 and 27. There were five match threes and they won £20 each. This Thursday night’s jackpot will begin at £1,000.

The Moyvane/Knockanure athletics club are very proud of the outstanding achievement of David Culhane, Tarbert, gold and bronze medal winner when representing the local club he put up a superb performance to win the boys U9 60 metres and third in the 200 metres in the Munster championship track and field in Cork on Saturday and Sunday. Athletes who have jerseys belonging to the club are asked to hand them to Eileen Roche or Kit Horan by this Friday night.

The annual outing is to Clare on Friday July 6. Bus lunch and evening meal is £28. Please book with Marie Walsh or Eileen Roche.
