Moyvane

Moyvane Notes – 23rd June, 2009

Moyvane Development Association:
Illegal dumping of rubbish at the Bottle Bank has been a problem for some time. Security cameras have been installed and are proving very effective, clearly identifying the offenders. The committee would like to warn anyone caught dumping illegally in the future that the security tape will be passed on to Kerry County Council who will impose hefty fines on the culprits. The Development Association puts in a huge effort, voluntarily, trying to keep the village clean and tidy. Please show a sense of responsibility and keep YOUR village tidy.

Seniors: Although Moyvane had a great comeback in the second half, they were unable to take the lead from Beale in the NKL Div 3 Final, played in Coolard on Wednesday last.  Down at the break 1-9 to 0-1, Moyvane came out more determined in the second half and began to dominate at midfield, picking up the breaks and moving the ball more efficiently.  They scored 1-6 without a reply before a Beale goal put the game out of reach for Moyvane.  Final score Moyvane 2-9, Beale 2-13.  Scorers: Kevin Kennelly 0-8, Cathal O’ Connor 2-1.  Well done to the team and management for reaching the final.  Moyvane seniors are away to Glenbeigh/Glencar in the County League on Saturday, June 27th at 7:30pm.
