Moyvane GAA:
Senior Scór: Congratulations to the Moyvane Ballad Group who won the Munster Final of the Senior Scór competition in Ballybunion last Sunday. They now go on to the All Ireland Final after beating groups from Tipperary, Clare and Cork. Sean Walsh, new Chairman of the Munster Council, was delighted to present the cup to members of his local club. The ballad group is made up of Aine Cronin, Elaine Scarlett, Josephine Moloney, Sinead Dore and Susan Groarke, all well known singers locally. The All-Ireland Final will be held in the INEC, Killarney on Saturday, April 24th at 4pm. The event is ticket only so please book early if you would like to show your support. Scór na bPáistí: Good Luck to the young people of Moyvane in the County Final of the competition in the Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney Sunday, March 28th at 6pm. They are competing in three competitions. Members of the ballad group are Lisa Mulvihill, Margaret Mulvihill, Laura Shine, Amy Lindsell and Lisa Mulvihill. The Quiz team is Aine O’Connor, Shane Quinn, Kieran Curran and Myra O’ Flaherty. Jack Harrison, Donal Stack, Micheal Collins, Gavin Kennelly, Colin Enright and Dylan Quinn are members of the Comedy Sketch.

Seniors: Moyvane lost to Tarbert in Round 6 of the North Kerry League on Saturday. The final score was Moyvane 0-10, Tarbert 1-12. Moyvane’s next game is away to Castleisland Desmonds on Sunday, March 28th.  Please check fixture posters for further details.

Minors: Moyvane won their County League game away to Sneem-Derrynane on a score line of Moyvane 5-6 to 2-7 on Saturday last.  Team and Scorers: Brendan Galvin, Conor Leahy (1-0), Seamus Lyons, Shane Stack, James Flavin (1-1), Kevin Fitzmaurice, James Noonan (1-1), Stephen O’ Carroll, Timmy Noonan (0-1), Martin Sheehy (1-3), Con Mulvihill (1-0).  Sub: Thomas Quinn. Moyvane’s next game is at home to Tarbert on Saturday, March 27th at 4pm. 

Coiste na nOg: Training for U12s will be held on Wednesday night’s from 6pm to 7pm. The U12s will have a match in Tarbert on Saturday, March 27th at 3pm. Training for U14s every Wednesday from 7pm until 8pm. Moyvane U16s will play St. Senans in Mountcoal on Monday, March 29th at 7pm.

Ladies GAA:  Anyone interested in playing for the U8/U10  teams can contact Phyllis Sheehy on 068-49414. Training for U12/U14 teams every Wednesday at 6pm. All welcome. U16 ladies team will train with our Senior team and will be notified of times by text. The first game is on March 29th away to Abbeydorney.

Senior Badminton:
It has been a great couple of weeks for the club, The division 5 Ladies and Mens teams defeated County during the week. The Ladies, Olive Keane, Edel Normoyle, Eileen Roche and Charlotte Fitzgerald won by 5 sets to 4 and the men, Paul Kennelly, Timmy Hanrahan, Micheal Nolan and Timmy Larkin won 3-1. The Division 3 mixed team of Carmel Hudson, Carolanne Warrilow, Saorcha Fitzgerald, Donal Enright, Donnacha Moloney and Ollie Conyard defeated Killarney 4-3. Also during the week players took part in The Listowel Invitation Tournament and Elaine Hudson won the division 4 section; she was also finalist in the division 3 mixed and  Donnacha Moloney was winner in this competition. Paul Kennelly was finalist in division 5 and Olive Keane was finalist in the Vets. section. Omitted from last weeks results in UL on Sunday, March 14th, Carmel Hudson and Donie Enright won mixed doubles grade 4 and Donie partnered Donnacha Moloney to win the doubles. It was another good day for club members at the division 2 and division 4 doubles championships in Tralee on Sunday. Michael J. O’Connor won the men’s division 2 and Marguerite Lynch won the ladies. Division 4 Ladies winners were Elaine Hudson and Saorcha Fitzgerald. Christopher McCarthy and Padraig Kearney won the division 4 plate. Well done to all.

Deaths:
Tess Stack of Glin died during the week. She was wife of the late Paddy Stack, Moyvane Village. Sympathy is extended to her daughter Josephine Mulvihill, Clounbrane, her son John, daughters Mary O’Rourke & Teresa Egan, brother-in-law Eddie Stack, Aughrim and all family members.
Mary Ann Collins formerly Kennelly of Knockanure died at the age of 98. Sympathy is extended to all her family.
The death took place recently of Catherine O’Connor (nee Aherne), Glin. Sympathy is extended to her family.
