Moyvane Development Association:
The rescheduled Bank Holiday weekend events begin this Friday night with the Inter Pub Talent Competition. Saturday night, November 28th the culinary event of the year, The Boro Buffet, will be held in the Marian Hall. Sunday, November 29th the Vintage goes ahead at the Community Centre with lots of activities for the kids. The committee would appreciate your support and would like to thank you and their sponsors for your support over the years. This is their main fundraiser and it allows them to improve the village and it’s surroundings and as you all know they have been very successful in the Tidy Towns competition over the years so it’s a win win situation all round. The Boro Queen event will be held on Saturday, January 16th in the Marian Hall. More details on that later.
The Annual Family Fun Day takes place on Sunday November 29th in the Marian Hall from 2pm to 4pm. This is a great afternoon of fun for everyone. You can sample some home baking by the ladies of the ICA at their cake sale. There will be the Bric-a-Brac sale and a book sale and lots of games and treats in store. If you would like to donate something for the Bric-a-Brac sale please feel free to do so but can you please make sure that all items are of good quality. You can leave them with any member of the ICA before Tuesday, November 24. The highlight of the afternoon is the visit of Santa with parcels for everyone and all for €3. Bring your little ones along and let them enjoy the magic of Christmas.
Shopping Trip: Don’t forget the shopping trip to Cork on Wednesday, December 2nd. The bus will leave the Village at 7am sharp. Cost is just €16. Contact Eileen Roche as soon as possible. A great opportunity to do the Christmas shopping, sit in, relax and let the ICA do the driving.
Wedding Congratulations:
Congratulations to Leona Fitzmaurice, Aughrim who married Neilus Lynch of Killorglin on Saturday, November 14th in the Church of the Assumption, Moyvane. The ceremony was performed by Fr. John Lucid P.P. assisted by Fr. Kerry Beaulieu, a cousin of the Fitzmaurice family, who traveled from California for the occasion. Bridesmaids were Karrie Fitzmaurice (sister of the Bride), Fiona Roche, Roisin Hickey and Michelle O’Grady. Best Man was Johnny Lynch (cousin of the Groom). Groomsmen were Seamus O’Connell, Adam Stack & Kevin Myers. Flowergirls were Aoibh O’Connell, Katie Gaynor & Hannah McMahon. Pageboys were Eoin O’Connell, Liam O’Connell & Tom McMahon. The reception was in Ballygarry House Hotel.
Senior Citizens:
The Annual Christmas dinner and Party is on Sunday December 6th beginning with Mass at 1pm. Come on out and have a good time and meet friends you may not have met since last year’s party. Book with Ita at 49134 or Maureen at 49365.

Coiste na nOg: Moyvane U16’s will take on Finuge in the North Kerry Championship final to be played in Moyvane on Sunday, November 29th at 1pm.
