Development Association:
The Developement Association are pleased to announce that our Annual Village Festival commences on Friday night with an inter-pub singing competition for a perpetual trophy. Saturday night we have our fourth highly-acclaimed Boro Buffet in the Marian Hall. As numbers are limited, please contact any committee member a.s.a.p.Sunday, we have a vintage display and kiddies activities at the Community Centre. Sunday night in the Marian Hall, there is a variety concert & local play by the Shannonside No Name Club, who are All-Ireland Caberet Show Finalists. Monday sees the North Kerry harriers hunt season kick off and an under 11 football blitz run by Bord na n'Og in the Con Brosnan Park starting at 11am. There will be a trophies presentation to blitz winners & the recent Division 3 girls NK League winners plate final by a member of the victorious Kerry team. The Sam Maguire Cup will be in attendance. At 7pm, The Rambling House will take place at Speedys Bar with local & munster talent bringing a lively close to our village festival.
In conjunction with the Moyvane Village Festival, the Kerry Hunt are a holding a Drag Hunt, assembling in the Village on the Bank Holiday Monday at 1pm.

Moyvane seniors were beaten by Brosna in the North Kerry Championship on Sunday last on a scoreline of Moyvane 1-6, Brosna 1-11.

Congratulations to Moyvane U-14's who were unlucky to be beaten in the North Kerry Division 2 Championship by Duagh on Sunday last on a scoreline of Moyvane 1-10, Duagh3-6. County Final:
Feale Rangers will play South Kerry in the County Final at Austin Stacks Park Tralee on Sunday November 11th.
Moyvane Annual Charity Walk:
This year the walk was in aid of the Kerry Parents & Friends Association. The total raised was E3615. A cheque was presented to the Association on Monday 22nd October. Sincere thanks to all who supported this worthy cause.
Moyvane ICA:
There will be a Cookery Demonstration by Denis Doody of Kingdom Kitchen Catering at the Marian Hall on Tuesday 27th November.
The Annual Shopping Trip to Cork takes place on Wednesday 28th November.
Wedding:
The marriage took place of Deidre Stack, Tarbert and Iain Kennelly, Leitrim Middle, Moyvane at St. Mary’s Church Tarbert on Saturday last. The reception was held in the Lanterns Hotel, Tarbert.
Confirmation:
The Bishop of Kerry Bishop Bill Murphy will administer the Sacrament of Confirmation in Moyvane on Monday 25th February at 2pm.
Jubilee Concert – Repeat Performance:
In April last, a packed house at Siamsa Tire, Tralee was treated to a Gala Evening of music, choral singing, dance, folk theatre, comedy and fun, presented by Fr. Pat Ahern. The evening was hosted to celebrate 50 years of St. John’s Gregorian Choir, Tralee, which was founded by Fr. Pat in 1957. If you missed this unique event last time around, you will have a chance to catch it on Tuesday October 30th and Wednesday 31st at 8pm. Tickets €15, now booking at 066 7123055.

Moyvane/Knockanure Community Games:
Moyvane/Knockanure Community Games A.G.M. will be held in The Marian Hall on Nov 2nd at 8pm. It is essential for the continuation of the Games in the parish that parents of children who wish to participate in the 2008 games attend this meeting otherwise Community games in the parish will cease to operate.

Death:
The death took place recently of Pat Stack, Dromurhur, Moyvane. He was 82 years of age. His remains were removed to Moyvane Church on Wednesday last. He was buried in Ahavoher Cemetery following Requiem Mass on Thursday last. He is survived by his sons Bobby, Johnny, Richard, Patrick and Dan, daughter Mary, brother Dick, sister Kathleen, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved family.
