THE marriage took place on Saturday last of Helen Heffernan, Woodgrove and Ian Monaghan Aughrim Lr., at the Church of the Assumption, Moyvane. The reception was held at The Gables, Athea.

The marriage took place on Friday last of Gerard O’Connor, Inchamore and Bridget Leahy, Ballybunion Rd., Listowel, at Listowel Church. The reception was held in the Brandon Hotel, Tralee.

The marriage took place on Friday of Maurice O’Connor, Lr. Aughrim and Joanne Mulvihill, Ballydonoghue at Ballydonoghue Church. The reception was held in the Devon Inn.

Date for your diary the annual creamery social will be held this year in the Devon Hotel on Friday, November 22.

Best of luck to the competitors of the local branch of Comhaltas who will be competing in the All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil in Listowel this weekend.

The death occurred recently of Dermy Kennelly, Tarbert and formerly of Barrougeen, Moyvane. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved family.

Moyvane lost to St. Michael’s, Foilmore in the senior County league on Sunday last and we are now in serious danger of being relegated to Division four. We need to win our remaining games to survive. We were well off the pace on Sunday last and the fitter Foilmore lads ran out comfortable winners by 2 – 13 to 0 – 8. More details about next game later.

Moyvane are playing Tarbert in Tarbert in the Barrett Cup on Friday night at 7.30 p.m. All players are asked to be there in good time.

Good luck to Kerry in the All Ireland semi final against Cork on Sunday next.

The final club draw for the Merc will take place on Saturday, August 31. So we are asking all ticket sellers who have any outstanding monies to collect to try and gather it all in as soon as possible.
