Bingo & Blotto:
Apologies for the cancellation of Bingo and Blotto last Thursday night. Back to normal this week. Blotto Jackpot €5,000.

Moyvane Development Association:
Adjudication for the Tidy Towns competition begins shortly so, here we go again, it’s clean-up time. You are welcome to come and help on next Wednesday, June 1st. The venue is, The Village and the time, 8pm. The judges are a secretive bunch who do not announce themselves so it is important to be ready when they decide to call. Please come and help, let’s improve on last year.

Juniors Result:
Moyvane Juniors had a good win over Listowel Emmets B in the Division 3 North Kerry League semi final, played in Duagh on Tuesday, May 17th. Final score, Moyvane B 1-12, Emmets B 1-9. Moyvane scorers: Timmy Noonan (0-4), Michael O’ Connor (1-0), Jackie Mulvihill (0-3), David Moloney (0-2), John Jack Mulvihill (0-2), James Kennelly (0-1).
Fixtures: The Juniors have a busy time at the moment. On this Friday, May 27th they are away to Tarbert in Round 4 of the County League at 7.30pm. and on Tuesday, May 31st they will play St. Senans in the Division 3 North Kerry Final in Duagh. This game starts at 7:30pm. Best of luck to players and management.
Lotto Results: There was no winner of this week’s Jackpot of €3,200.  Numbers drawn were 2   4   9   27.  Lucky Dips: €40 each, Gearoid Keating, Abbeyfeale. Eileen Cronin, Mail Road Cross. Master Composter Programme:

Kerry County Council and the EPA will hold a composting event at Mail Road Cross Garden Centre on Sunday next, May 29th from 2pm to 4pm. A number of Master Composters will be on hand to give advice on how to prevent garden and food waste and how to compost using different types of compost systems. Home composting is an ideal local and sustainable management option for food and garden waste providing it is done correctly so why not come along on Sunday and find out how to reduce the amount of waste that goes into your rubbish bin at home and make compost for your garden.

Youth Disco:

Ballybunion will play host to the Rubberbandits on next Saturday week for their first ever teenage non alcoholic disco. The show will be held in Rumours night club the golf hotel from 8pm to 11pm. It is open to teenagers all over North Kerry. Call 068 27111 for further information. There will be an adult disco with the Rubberbandits after the youth disco. The event is been organised by Destination Ballybunion.

Deaths:

Maura O’Connor, Aughrim finally lost her battle for life last week after a long, brave fight. In her sixties, she is survived by her husband, Denis, her beloved sons, sisters, brothers, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, in particular baby Rebecca Maura, the first girl in the family in two generations. Her arrival was a joy to Maura as she fought her illness. She was a strong person who did things her way and didn’t deserve to lose the battle but unfortunately time ran out. Her funeral was a huge one. Mass was on Saturday with burial in Lislaughtin Abbey, Ballylongford. 
Anthony Aherne, son of the late Sean and Aggie Aherne of Moher Cross died recently in England. His funeral will take place on Thursday, June 2nd at 4pm at St. John Fisher and St. Thomas Moore Church, Rossington Avenue, Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, England, with burial the next day in Allum Lane Cemetery, Borehamwood. Anthony was in his forties and a member of a large family.
Con Flaherty of Tarmons and late of Aughrim died suddenly at his home last week. Con and his late wife came back from England to live in Tarmons some years ago. He is survived by his three children, his brother, Denis and many relatives. His funeral Mass was held in Moyvane on Sunday with burial in Ahavoher.
Michael Dowling of Derry, Listowel died recently also. Sympathy is extended to his relatives in the parish.
