SENIOR BADMINTON:
On Tuesday night the Division 4 team got back to winning ways when they defeated Listowel 6-1. The team was Louise Behan, Krystle Crowley, Eleanor Sheehan, Jamie Elliott, Timmy Hanrahan, Timmy Noonan and Padraig Kearney.
Friday night was Doubles Championships night for Division 2 and 4. Elaine Hudson playing with Sinead Galvin, Killarney won Division 2 Ladies and Dermot Keane with Fergal Hannon, Listowel won the Mens.In the Division 4 Ladies Louise Behan with Mary Louise O’Brien, Sneem were finalists. The Division 4 Plate saw Timmy Hanrahan and Jamie Elliott defeat Timmy Noonan and Padraig Kearney.
Sunday next is Munster Singles Finals day. Elaine Hudson, Donie Enright, James Flaherty and Timmy Noonan will represent Moyvane/Kerry. Best of luck to all.
PLAYGROUND:
The Moyvane Playground Committee wishes to sincerely thank everyone who has supported the playground to date. We would also like to remind those who still have envelopes to return them as soon as possible to Noel at Stack’s Butchers or any committee member. It is crucial that everyone tries to support this project at this stage to ensure its completion. If anyone hasn’t been approached but wishes to support the project, you may drop your donation into Stack’s Butchers. All donations big and small are greatly appreciated.
BORO BRIGADE:
Congratulations to the Boro Brigade members who performed so admirably at the recent Foynes 5km run and 4km walk on Sunday, March 16th. Participating members were; Rose McAuliffe, Liz Fitzmaurice, Marie Stack, Sinead Kearney, Teresa Stack, Bill McAuliffe, Denis Mulvihill, Denise McEvoy, Ann Marie McEvoy, Kathleen Ambrose, Michelle Mulvihill, Eileen Haugh, Claire Kennelly, Mai Mulvihill, Mildred Flahive, Padraig Shanahan and Tom Shanahan. The club is now in training for the Moyvane youth club 5km/10km fun run/walk which takes on Mother’s Day, Sunday, March 30th at 1pm. Training days and times: Tuesdays at 8pm – Walking Members. MOYVANE YOUTH CLUB FUN RUN:
Do you want to do something different as a family this Mother’s Day? A 5km/10km fun run and walk will take place in Moyvane on Sunday, March 30th. Registration at 12 noon in the Marian Hall, Moyvane with a start time of 1pm. Entry fee is €10 per person. Traffic Control will be in operation on the day and expect delays.

LADIES FOOTBALL:
Unwanted Clothes Collection will take place on Saturday, April 5th at 11am, at the Community Centre, Moyvane. Bags may also be dropped off on Friday from 6pm-8pm. All unwanted clothes, Belts, Shoes, Handbags, Curtains etc accepted (no duvets/pillows). It’s time to Spring Clean again. Thanks for your support. Funds go towards running of the club.

DEATHS:
Last week the parish was shocked at the sudden death of Margaret Mulvihill of Gurtdromosillihy. Margaret had been in the best of health and had been at Bingo in Moyvane the previous Thursday night. She came to the village every morning to do her shopping. She was predeceased by her husband, Micháel and is survived by her children, DJ, Mike, Molly, Mossy, Jackie, Julie, and Brendan, her sisters, Eileen, Moira and Therese and her grandchildren. Requiem Mass for Margaret was celebrated in The Church of the Assumption, Moyvane on Thursday, March 13th and burial took place in Murhur Cemetery, Moyvane. A nice lady who will be missed.
The death also took place on March 8th of Margaret (Peggy) Wallace (née Staunton) of Aughrim, Moyvane. Peggy is survived by her husband Donie, sons Danny, Tom, and Matt, and daughters Jackie (Corr), Caroline (Cregan), and Anne-Marie, her sisters Anne (Hanrahan), Kathleen, and Mary, and brother Mike. Requiem Mass for Peggy Wallace took place in The Church of the Assumption, Moyvane with burial in Kilfergus Cemetery, Glin.
Con Hanrahan, of Aughrim died recently in New York. He was predeceased by his wife, Peggy. He is survived by his daughters, Mary, Margaret and Maureen, his son Cornelius. He is also survived by his brothers Denis, Aughrim, William, Thomas and Brendan, sisters Mary, Loughill, and Helen, Tarbert. Burial took place in New York.
Sympathy is also extended to Geraldine Kennelly of Keylod on the death of her mother, Alice Barrett of Ardagh who died recently. May they rest in peace.
