WL102FM Awards Night:
Mick Flavin will provide the backing band at this year’s awards ceremony to be held at the Devon Inn on Monday, March 11th next. Some of the award winners include Jason Travers, Trudie Lawlor, Gary Gamble, Micheal Collins, Crystal Swing and Sean Brennan. That’s only a flavour of the talent that’s being honoured on the night. Senior Badminton:
Moyvane’s Dermot Keane and Jamie Elliot won the Div3 and 5 Kerry Singles Championships a few weeks ago last Sunday it was the turn of the Div 2 & Div4s to take to the courts and they followed suit bringing all four Titles to the club. In Div 2 Mens it was an all Moyvane final and Deins Buckley overcame Timmy Duggan in three sets, in the Ladies final Elaine Hudson beat her Killarney opponent in two sets,on to Div4 Myles Kearney came up against another Killarney player and was the winner in two sets, Div 4 Ladies was another all Moyvane final and in another three sets Helen Browne overcame Francine Collins, to round off the day Diarmuid Fitzmaurice won the Div4 plate.Well done all the club is so proud of ye.
On Mon of last week the Div4 mixed league team played Listowel at home and won 7-0 team was Helen Browne, Francine Collins, Eleanor Sheehan, Krystle Crowley, Myles Kearney, Diarmuid Fitzmaurice, Timmy Hanrahan and Padraig Kearney.
Tuesday night the Div5 ladies played their first league match away to Listowel and won 4-0 team Suzanne Keane, Charlotte Fitzgerald, Michelle Corridan and Celia O’Grady.
Moyvane Juvenile Badminton Club:
There was a Juvenile Kerry Doubles Championships held in “Aura Sport Complex", Killarney on Saturday 23rd of February. Winners as follows: Girls Under 13: Winner Niamh Flaherty & Ciara Hudson; Boys Under 15: Winner James Flaherty. Well done to everyone who participated in the competitions and the standard was very high.
Moyvane Development Association:
The AGM of the Moyvane Development Association will take place in The Marian Hall at 9pm on Tuesday March 5th. New members welcome. At the meeting held recently to discuss The Gathering 2013, possible dates for the event were reviewed. There will be further discussion re the above at another meeting which will be advertised in the coming weeks.
