Moyvane Notes – 26th December, 2005

At this time of year we look back at the different events and happenings in the locality during 2005. The development Association ran its annual village festival which was the most successful to date with the highlight been the Queen of the Boro competition won Selina Mulvihill. In GAA the local club were busy with the development and reconstruction of their playing field which is now one of the driest in kerry. The GAA Club are undertaking a major fundraising draw spearheaded by club secretary Teddy Keane. In the All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil Kieran Flavin won the U12 Tin whistle competition and Dan keane came 3rd in the Newly composed ballad competition. The Development Asssociation’s latest project is the development of an old lime Kiln, which is believed to be several hundred years old and is nearly completed.

 

Senior Badminton
the div.4 mixed league team defeated Killarney 4-3 in Moyvane recently.
the team was Lisa Purcell, Catriona Ambrose, Mary Lynch,Mgt. A. flaherty,
Dermot Keane, Christopher McCarthy, Ed. McCarthy, and Donal Enright.

Wedding : The marriage took place recently of Mary T Broderick, Coilagurteen and Mike Cooper Killarney at the Church of the Assumption Moyvane. The Reception was held in the Dromhall Hotel Killarney.
